I'm not really a Kaoklai Kaennorsing fan, its amazing when he takes on giants, but he can't compete with people his own size, its like their speed is just too much for him.

My favourites...

Jerome Le Banner (My hero)
Peter Aerts
Remy Bonjasky (the person I most aesthetically resemble in my Muay Thai)
Buakaw Por Pramuk
Andy Souwer
Ernesto Hoost
Ray Sefo
Mark Hunt

All great, so many great fights in K-1. Thats the thing I love about K-1, short 9 minute fights, no time for doing nothing. I can hardly recall any K-1 fights, apart from some of those terrible ones Sapp was in.

My hero!

Muscular Black men with bleached hair are Cro Cop's Krytonite, he just can't handle it!

(Yes I'm well aware Cro Cop Guillotined Randleman the second time around and made it look easy!)

His hair wasn't bleached for that fight! OMG we figured it out!

Amazing fighter who always took a fight, even if he had serious injuries. I respect this guy a lot.

Samkor Keatmontep is a Muay Thai legend he has a crazy left kick

Yoddecha Sithyodthong has some insane head kicks (can't find a pic of him)

Kaew "Sugar" Fairtex is 22 years old and a Lumpini Stadium Champ

I see you are a man of taste, I strongly suggest you look into Saenchai Sor Kingstar (some reckon he is the p4p #1 Nak Muay in the world) and definitely look up some Yodsaenklai (often spelled Yodsanklai) Fairtex fights. Yodsaenklai gets my vote as the #1 p4p Nak Muay in the world right now. He is so good he can't even find a challenger for his belt at the moment! I share the same stance as him (and Jerome) with my right hand forward, even though its our power hand, we stand southpaw to keep our power leg cocked back, espescially important for myself and Yodsaenklai's kick-heavy style!

Our Resident MT Fanatic Mastodon is on board the thread and still no mention of Somrak Kamsing!?

You never really hear Non Thais have much to say about Somrak but he was amazing, probably my all time fave. Such a technician, he made every movement, even the most mundane, seem beautiful and absolutely one of a kind.

As for current boxers I suppose I would have to say I've taken a liking to Nathan "Carnage" Corbett. He's not as skilled as some of the Thai and Dutch fighters currently around but he has a solid record and a reputation for finishing fights, preferably with a nasty elbow. Exciting fighter, always a blast to watch.

As for kickboxers who are currently away from the sport trying their hand at MMA, I'd have to say my favorite by far is Rambaa 'M16" Somdet. Great puncher, all around accurate striker, and a character to boot. Seriously, you thought Genki Sudo and Akihiro Gono were odd? This guy makes them look like your average Johnny Public.

K-1 Rules I like Hug, Bonjansky, and Aerts.

That's me, what do you think?

Oh I'm familiar with Somrak, unfortunately videos of his fights are a little hard to come by, I couldnt find any on youtube and dailymotion only has two. I just mentioned Yodsaenklai because we have such similar styles, and Saenchai Sor Kingstar because he is touted by some as the "Next big thing"

Should give a shoutout to "The Black Scorpion" Orono and Johmod Kiatdisak while I'm at it!

Actually, Saenchai is sort regarded as a SOmrak light of sorts. Has spent time being trained by him and developed some similar aspects in his style, but he's still years away from Khun Kamsing in terms of movement and pure technique. But yeah, he's definitely the young man to watch right now, barring any career ending injuries or personal mishaps he should have left a pretty special mark on the sport by the time he's done in the ring.

Ah, you mentioned another favorite of mine in Orono, though it seems like he may be leaving the Thai Boxing ring for the greener Pastures of K-1 Max, much like Buakaw did. I hope he'll still box under full Thai rules at least semi regularly, as I think his style is better suited to it, but I'll cheer for him anywhere.

Yodsaenklai is the guy who is all the rage know, and rightfully so, hes damn good. And I still haven't seen enough of Johmod to really critque or comment much, beyond saying I like what I see!

It's about impossible to find a video of Saenchai Sor Kingstar with good quality. I've seen a HL of him, but it had horrible quality.

I think there may be one or two od Saenchai's fights in the video section - I'm not sure how easy it is to search that section but last time I looked at it (a long time ago) there were Saenchai vids on there.
