Obviously Godfather I and II and Scarface but also add City of God, Casino (Most Scorsese's films actually like Mean Streets, Goodfellas, and Departed), and add Usual Suspects (if it counts).

Donnie Brasco was actually fairly decent. Johnny Depp played the roll great

He is a very versatile actor.

It was already mentioned but City of God is highly underrated.

And for the record, ive always thought that Scarface was overrated. Lots of violence not enough substance.

Im shocked to see nobody has mentioned 'Gangster Number One', Its a UK gangster flick, I thought it was pretty good!

But you cant go wrong with 'Scarface'

The Boondock Saints is an awesome movie, not sure if it's a gangster movie but it's amazing. Anyone who hasn't seen it has to go out and rent it right away......do it!

another one to add to the list would be: Paid In Full. Very underrated flick... dope ghetto flick.

Blood In, Blood Out is a good gangsta movie, too.

Like many have said before me, Goodfellas and Casino.
American Gangster was a very good movie, mainly because Denzel is a great actor, but if you do research it is very stretched from the truth.
