I dont think it was a good fight.
Rashad was hardly impressive, his striking looked sloppy, the kick that finished the fight was more of a "punchers chance" type connection than technical skill or domination by one fighter.
Salmon looked better than people were expecting before the fight, seemed to dominate the wrestling and his striking (aside from the flashy-slow-kick at the start of the first round) looked tighter.
that being said.....
Salmon looked a little out of shape and heavy, he could probably stand to drop to 185 (he fought 2 weight classes under Rashad in college) but all things being equal, i think he put on a better show than Rashad, just got unlucky at the end.
Neither fighter was spectacular. Hardly a main event type fight, even though the finish was HL reel quality.

I think Rashad is on his way to being an A-level fighter. The only criticism I have is it seems he was trying tp prove his standup. Who cares what the casual fan thinks? If you've got a good ground game, use it. Maybe Salmon was a better wrestler than him and he thought he had the advantage on the feet, but if your not scoring consistantly you can still get outpointed on the decision. However it just seemed to me that his gameplan was to land that kick for the Ko. He said his coach had pointed out Salmon had a tendency to duck his head. It seems to me if your fight plan is just to land the big shot, you better be really good at it(especially in a 15 minute fight). Otherwise you could end up like the Crow vs Swick. Waiting till it's too late if you don't pull out the KO. Heath Herring suffered from this and actually lost.
