ESPN has ranked the top 10 fighters in the world regardless of weight class. The voting panel for these rankings consists of ESPN.com writers Josh Gross, Franklin McNeil and Brett Okamoto, MMA Live host Jon Anik and ESPN.com editor Darius Ortiz. Each member of the panel submitted his top 10 and a point value was awarded to each fighter on his list. Check out the list below to see how things shook out and make sure to come back as these lists will update monthly.

I'd have Velasquez higher on my P4P rank.

After finishing Nog and Lesnar I think he's top 5, I'd have him at 3 or 4.

I think Florian should be a bit further down and Guida should get some love.

In a division lacking long streaks at the top, Alvarez and Aoki both have them (with Aoki's last loss being to the #2 or #3 lightweight in the world, depending on who you ask).

I do not like their P4P rankings.

So ESPN, the "worldwide leader in sports", is only now getting around to a ranking of MMA fighters... and it's only a Top 10? Sorry, but I really don't need Josh Gross and Franklin McNeil to tell me that Anderson Silva is a badass, I need them to tell me how Sean McCorkle and Christian Morecraft look, and how Tatsuya Kawajiri is preparing to fight Melendez under American rules. I like the notes they've included for each fighter, provided they stay up-to-date, but they should really be doing a Top 50.

Neither do I. They're pretty weak. Not taking anything away from Maynard but he is not a top 10 P4P fighter. They need to do a little switching around.

Who has Jones beaten to warrant him a number 2 ranking? The hype this guy is getting is ridiculous.

Pat Miletich may have his problems with Dana White, but he's just being honest.

Best fighter-turned-analyst? Yes. Best analyst, period? Maybe.
