More Politics and shit, I'm sick of hearing about all of it to tell you the truth, people are just too concerned about it. Talking about Politics and shit like this never turns out good.

Last time I checked a Forum is for having conversations about things, I dont care if you're gonna be all bitchy about it, and whatever bro, it's cool if you're into it and all, if those are your views alright then whatever, but I dont care for it, don't start getting all offended and defensive over me not liking it.

im not offended at all, and didnt feel i was being bitchy. i posted them in the off topic section, so i figure it is fair game. i dont expect everyone to agree with me. i was just saying that if your sick of reading about politics then you shouldnt read about them. people can ignore politics if they choose. i just happen to think it is very important. mostly i think it is important to fight for, protect, and preserve our civil liberites. that is my main concern, which is why i posted the ron paul thread, because i think he is the best candidate to do that. anyways we are all entitled to our own opinion.

Warning: I didn't watch the video, but am just commenting on the income tax situation in general.

While I'm against the income tax, its pretty low on my list of gripes. We actually have a local man whos been barricaded in his house for a good six months now over tax evasion. Its interesting to see how it pans out, and see what the reaction is, and I'm glad the guy is opinionated about the subject.

Personally I see the income tax as being the governments "allowance" from me. If the president, house or senete do something to royally piss me off, I'll stop paying it, but until then, I'm not to heartbroken about it. Really I'm pretty good at filing my returns and almost always get my money back, so its no big deal for me. It tends to be guys in business for themselves that get shafted on income tax.

Disagree. Politicians are supposed to serve the people, not the other way around.

you must be talking about the brown's they have been at a standoff with the feds for awhile. it is a pretty interesting story if you look into it.

on a side note: aaron russo passed away. he directed the documentary i posted in this thread. i think everyone should watch it. if your neighbor was stealing a couple hundred bucks from you every paycheck, wouldnt you get pissed about it. why be so complacent if the government is STEALING from you?

That's the sad problem with a lot of the younger generation. They don't care. What is happening today will effect them down the road, but since alot of them live "in-the-now" it doesn't bother them.

I see tax as more than just an allowance. It's what funds the critical services in our lives like Fire Departments, Police Departments, Public Education, Transportation, Our Military, these are the things that make up lik 95% of the taxes you pay. All those small things that people really complain about like welfare, disability, and special programs, those are drops in a very very large bucket.

I say do away with all taxes and have a national sales tax. That way, everybody pays, illegals and people that work for cash.

VERY interesting .Thanks disordely. I hope I don't get flamed, but what are your thoughts on other "anti" government documentaries like 9/11 truth movement, illuminati, etc. There's a lot of "political" stuff going on that is constantly changing our world. It's interesting to know.

Your heart is in the right place and all, but it would be impossible to enforce without auditing damn near every business, which would waste unbelievable amounts of money on manpower. Having worked in resturants and retail places that collect sales taxes, the system for collecting such things is flimsy at best.

I'm actually very much about casinos for revenue after being out west, and taxes on "luxury" items such as sports cars, alcohol, cigarettes, etc.

We should all take an interest in politics. Unfortunately it takes everyone to react to get anything changed. People are put off and have given in to the fact that they cant make a difference. This has been the same throughout history. Domocracy is more peacefull but still isnt fair. The UK is far worse for taxing. We get taxed on wages, taxed on the products we buy with our wages, taxed on earning money from property which we bought with our already taxed wages, taxed again on that -40% if we pass it down as inheritance, taxed for healthcare which is passed out to illegal immigrants living in houses I couldnt dream of affording rather than homeless single moms or the elderly who fought for our country and die every year because they cant afford to pay to heat their house in winter. All the while the politicians vote for their own pay rises and spend billions of our money on ugly piece of shite millenium domes in London that drink money until they sell it on for pennys. This is all horseshite and leaves people very resentfull so you can't blame people for not giving a toss and tax evading.

do you think you life would be so much better if politician x gets elected. most are dishonest and corrupt and if they wernt then they become that way once elected. they are usually very rich (but wouldnt mind getting richer) and so now on to the power and celebrity. its up to each of us to make something of ourselves by reaching our potential and not sit around and wait for some guy who said something you liked to change the world and make your life better.
the meaning of politics is the art of deception.
these guys are competing for votes if there are votes out there that are not being represented then here comes mr x.
my advise to all is go to work , pay your taxes, vote with your brain and yor heart and dont consume yourself with this dark side of our society

our politics are like our court system...to full of red tape and bs. 1 politician or another, they all have their own agenda, but they are suppose to represent their constituates...what a joke. If that were true i doubt we'd still be in Iraq. As far as income taxes go, they are probably a neccessary evil, they might need reforming but yet neccessary. My problem is all the illeagels that dont pay taxes, or do but cant collect a return due to a fake ssn, the government makes out. I was a member of the US Army doing border patrol while stationed in Germany on the Chek. border, but our borders are wide open for any illegals to come in, thats sad.

I'm not as cynical (as I used to be) in believing that one politician can change the country for good or bad. I think the administration as a whole has more power, and uses it, on any given politician that is not playing ball.

Politics, though very interesting, are very complicated. They are mixed with history, economics and other topics. It's no wonder that the average lay person is not concerned with learning about politics because it takes a University degree in political science to even scratch the surface on political knowledge.

It's a shame too because I think people would be a little less partisan if they learned a little more about politics in general and that would all be good for our respective countries.
