BARUERI, Brazil – Don't think Korean welterweight Dong Hyun Kim planned to stop Erick Silva in the way he did at UFC Fight Night 29. The out-of-nowhere knockout he earned came by surprise.

Very nice ko.
I was more shocked cause he hasn't finished a fight since
His UFC debut.

very cool thing to say, even thou both guys threw at the same time..DHK just threw the stronger punch..kinda reminded me of Condit vs Hardy, the way it ended..i hope Shields and DHK is next..

The fence grab changed the whole fight, and I would honestly overturn his win to a n/c because of it. Silva yanked back with all his strength and would have taken DHK down if both DHK's hands hadn't been illegally gripping the turnbuckle of the cage. Silva would have got the TD and the tide of the battle was already moving in Silva's favor.

Rematch I say

same thoughts on Mendes vs Aldo? Or Anderson vs Sonnen II with the shorts grab? Or how about when Erick grabbed the fence earlier in the fight?

I'm glad that DHK calls out the fence grab, because my immediate thoughts during the grab were on what could've happened had Silva completed the takedown. DHK's an animal on the ground, but most of what we've seen has been from the top. Silva's a big WW as well, and while his fight IQ's in question, his punching power isn't.

This is the kind of fight that long-term makes the sport more colorful and interesting, but in the short term raises legitimate doubts.

Props to DHK !!! When Aldo grabbed the fence against Mendes he acted like it didn't matter and is still holding the man off on a rematch, DHK is a class act. I don't think he will make it to a belt but going forward I sure will root for him.

You got me there I didn't have the same thought when Mendes did it because I was rooting for Aldo. Biased as fuck.
