Dodged a bullet!

Its fair to say I like a bit of a gamble on the UFC, over the last 2 months Ive managed to raise a big stake (£1000) and I have been betting it on locks to make a little bit of money. So far I have won 2 grand and also kept my original stake of a grand.

Last night for the first time I decided to pick 2 fighters instead of 1.

The 2 I had chosen was Vera and Griffin.

After Griffin failed to make weight, I changed my pick to Cerrone. If I hadnt changed I would have lost a grand.

Also, during the Vera fight I was s######g myself during the third rd, watching Vera get dropped and then watching his arm get snapped was down right scary, ( maybe I dodged 2 bullets last night).

But all in all I won a further £700 last night, taking my total up to £2700. Bring on UFC 138 for my next bet (and Ill be there live)

Awesome job Rabi! As I always say, your bankroll doesn't reset after 10 events in real life. You don't get prediction bonuses either though. You're lucky on-line sports betting is legal in the UK

Very very few states have it legal. I lost about a grand when betonsports.com went down and there was nothing I could do because it is illegal in my state. I then used betus.com but cashed out before they went down.

Basically, you're not going to get arrested for it, but the company you wager through knows they can just jack you and you can't legally do anything. It'd be like walking into the police station and telling them someone stole your weed.

Thats terrible, id be fuming if they did that to me, the site I use has a good reputation ( Paddy Power) and Id onloy use a well known site.

Yeah, most of them available to us have good reputations until `all of a sudden`. Of course there are a select few that have been around for a long time and have great reviews. But they're almost all located off shores in places like Costa Rica and the Caribbean to avoid our jurisdiction. Some will close up shop and reopen under a different name and domain if they feel like it. Nothing you can legally do to get your money that was in your account when they closed under their old name because it's illegal in the state you live in. Pretty disappointing. Now Vegas is another story

You know, I don't think it is. I am not completely sure of the legalities of on-line sports betting in California. I live within 10-20 miles of about 5 casinos on Indian Reservations, and I called them all, and none of them offer sports betting! I guess sports betting is illegal in California, which still doesn't make sense to me because I thought reservations were supposed to be sovereign....

It's a travesty! I wish I could go down the street to make a wager instead of 4 hours to Vegas! I am still unsure of the legalities of on-line betting in my state, though. And let me say this, screw the movies and tv! In the movies, someone always "calls Vegas" to put down a bet. You can't do that shit! Lord knows I tried.

I have been wanting to bet real money too but I can't. I visited some online betting sites and even talked to a staffer but all of them seemed shady.

I wish I lived in Vegas. I go to the casinos here and there but I am not a gambler by any means. I only want the opportunities to place bets on mma fights.

I feel sort of guilty for not speaking up. I wanted to tell you my opinions of Vera and Griffin but my record of picks does not make me very credible and so I decided to let others do it.

i can fight another man in a cage but im way to much of a pussy to bet any amount of money. i guess i really am that cheap. great job

Shawn, I wasnt that confident in Jorgensen as I didnt know to much in his opponent, I honestly thought Vera would step up, and even though he won he did make me sweat, especially in rd 3.
