Diego "The Nightmare" Sanchez (17-0)

Do you think Diego Sanchez will be able to hold his perfect 17-0 record for long...

I think if he beats Josh Kosheck his next opponent will either be Matt Hughes or George st. Pierre, in which he will lose whether it's George or Matt..

His next opponet... win or lose will be Jon Fitch. Hughes will get his shot at GSP.

His undefeated record will end as soon as he fights a higher level opponent. Hes like 6-0 in UFC? So 11 wins in another ORG. is pretty good but not nearly as difficult as if it were in UFC or PRIDE. Hes good but not that good.

Sanchez vs GSP = TKO 35 seconds by Stoppage due to strikes...
Sanchez vs Hughes = TKO 35 seconds by GnP...

but i agree with what everyone else says.. if he wins and gets to fight GSP or hughes, its not going to end pretty for him.. i think hes a good fighter with alot of skill, but i also think he is very overrated for what he does.. ive never been overly impressed with him

For the recod (again) I think Diego is overrated. I do admit that he is a good fighter.

Hi srecord (IMO) is being hyped by the UFC to try and sell him. Dana says his type of record is very rare, but why hasn't he gotten a title shot if he (Diego) is such an anomaly.

A number of his wins are against guys that either have losing records or that have only fought once or twice.

His UFC record is good, but I wouldn't say that he was dominant.

i think Diego will beat Kos...i just dont think Kos is mentally strong enough.....as for Hughes and GSP....i give him a 20% chance with GSP,and a 30% chance with Hughes..

The other thing that was odd, was that I thought I heard Dana say that Diego was 19-0 on the countdown last night. What's up with that?

I think Sanchez is too good of an athlete for Hughes now...it'll be the same problem Hughes had with GSP. I think Sanchez would win, by decision if not earlier...I think GSP and Sanchez would be a good fight with GSP probably coming out on top in the 1st or 2nd rd. As for Koschek, he's definitely not ready for a top 5 WW

Diego won't have a perfect record for long. Fitch, Hughes or GSP will give him his first loss. All that is left to think about is who will do it first.

I was extremely skeptical of TUF fighters initially, I still am kinda. But Diego Sanchez is one of the few fighters to come off that show that has made me eat my words.

Sanchez has some serious ground skills, he can still mix it up standing, he has extreme amounts of focus, and the heart to take his career to the top. I definately think he is on par with Hughes and GSP.

I agree. Every time I think Diego is going to lose (Riggs, Karo) he steps up his game and demolishes guys. I think his wierd, partly mental personality is what keeps me from being a big Diego supporter.

But I guess not everyone can be as cool as the Iceman or an ambassador like GSP

I don't think Diego will make a good champion if he wins the title. He has the fighting aspect, but his personality is just horrible. He's too full of himself.

I think Diego will beat Koscheck no problem. He continues to develop after every fight. His ground game, both wrestling and jiu jitsu are top notch and his striking is on it's way. Koscheck IMO is a one dimensional fighter and even with Diego's sketchy standup Kos will play right into Diego's game. I do predict this fight going the full 3 rd's though.

The big question is wether or not the undefeated nightmare can beat Hughes or GSP. My guess is probably not. GSP would pick him apart and probably KO him in the first rd with far superior standup and takedown defense. Matt Hughes I think is just to big and strong for Sanchez. This wouldn't be a standup fight so the skills there don't matter and I think Matt would just be able to overpower Diego on the ground.

If I was Dana White and Diego won the championship in the WW division, I would send him to the wolves and break him like PRIDE did to Sakuraba. Get him like 6 title defences in 1 year until he lost.

I thiunk Diego will probably make it to the 2nd or 3rd round against Hughes Or GSP. I think both will still beat him right now though. Give him 2 years, Hughes will be retired and Sanchez will probably be ready to challenge whoever is the man then. I don't know if GSP will stay at this weight.He's talked about moving up before. Add the possibility somebody we don't know about , or somebody great from 185( Filho maybe) cou\d drop down , and could be even better than GSP is right now by then.

GSP would break that Mexican chin of his...and Hughes would break his warrior spirit.

But Diego is very very good no doubt about it
