I think for the most part the judges get it right, but then again that's why there are three of them. I've seen some Split Decisions that should have been unanimous in my opionion.

There is NO way that Tito won that fight agains Griffin. Sure he beat him in the first, no one can deny that, but in the second he dominated Tito and in the third he did the same, until Tito got a take down? From which Griffin got up from before the fight was over, that's BS.

I have an idea. I am not a fan of judges, but I think judging has its place.

Now there are some fights where there was a clear winner and a unanimous decision is not really arguable.

Now....

What does everyone think of having split decisions (i.e. were the fight is too close to call) be declared draws? Neither fighter's record is tarnished by a controversial decision and many split decisions result in fights were neither fighter was dominated or hurt.

The only problem I see with this is in a title fight where you need a winner, but most title fights don't go to decision unless you're Tim Sylvia. and even then, most of the decisions are unanimous.

What I would like to see change about the current judging system for MMA is the 10-9 system with the winner getting the 10. If the judges scored the fights more liberally (meaning a system where 10-6, 10-7, 10-8 are common and 10-9 if it's really close), I don't think we would have as many problems with judges decisions. That's just my opinion though...

Yeah, I feel the same way. a 10-8 is a real rarity. If that's the case, then why not score out of 3.

Good point. Maybe a system where the winner gets a 5 and the loser gets a 1-4 would be better.

The problem with the scoing is that you can just lose 10-9 in the first two rounds and dominate the third round and still lose.

Diaz has always made it clear that he hates how judges sit there and count the takedowns, regardless of wheather the fighter uses the takedown to pass the guard or land some actual damaging shots.

Takedowns do count for something I think, but fighters who get taken down a lot but are more busy on the bottom using their guard then the fighter on top of them, should get the win.

I hope they don't mess with PRIDEs rules too much because in PRIDE, you can win a fight off your back.
