A great striker is what draws most of us to MMA. A fighter who can deliver an instant knockout in the most brutal way possible is what makes the sport so exciting.

However, being a great knockout specialist is not enough to make this list.

This list is comprised of strikers who can be effective and smart with their attacks.

Strikers who can break down their opponents with an effective mix of punches and kicks are far more impressive than those to can just go in and put someone to sleep in the first round.

Why? Well...There will always be someone who can take a clean shot to the chin, so sometimes you might have to go with Plan B.

It lists Anderson Silva as #6, lists take ten seconds to look at and yet this was not worth my time

I could potentially see Aldo at one and Silva at 2...but Anerson silva is the most Dynamic striker we have ever seen at the heavier weights, and p4p he may be better than Aldo although I can see an argument for either. Fedor did much more than break a sweat in the Rogers fight...and the Arlovski fight...matter of fact in the Rogers fight I'm pretty sure he broke his nose. I like that Cyborg got put on the list though, and I like the list overall, but how do you preface it by saying one-punch-ko power is not what gets you on the list and then put Carwin at 4??? Don't get me wrong the guy is hell to trade with, but in comparison to guys like Silva and Aldo who throw knees, kicks, punches, and elbows! Hell B.J. throws all that stuff too. I feel like there were definitely some misfires there. Where was Jon Jones on this list? That guy has some seriously diverse striking.

This list is terrible. There are better strikers, Shane is above Anderson and in the opening of the article it talks about the best technical strikers...... really?

Because Shane is a fundamentals fighter, so is Fedor. They are timing knockout fighters, there are a lot of strikers that have more technical ability.

Andersons low because he did to his opponents what Sweet pete, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Ali did at their apex, yet he didn't finish them..... Here's news, if Anderson got taken down by Maia or Leitas he would have been subbed, and you get taken down when charging forward.

Some people have no understanding of striking and its place alongside fear of takedowns.

Anderson is listed lower than Shane when everyone knows who the better technical striker is by far. Anderson is less devastating because if he was dumb and aggressive he would lose ala Fedor via getting his terrible wrestling exploited.

He can win every second of every fight standing against every opponent and I guess he wont be above Shane Carwin because Carwin has heavy hands......
