Dennis Hallman (37-12-2), a longtime MMA fighter best known for twice defeating former UFC champion Matt Hughes, will take on Sean Salmon (14-4) at the Nov. 16 Strikeforce event in San Jose, Calif.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today learned of the booking from Salmon.
The fight will be the alternate bout for Strikeforce’s four-man middleweight tournament — the first ever sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission.
Interesting...Hallman was impressive in the past when he dispatched Hughes in less than 37 seconds total(two fights)! However, recently he hasn't looked that good. Salmon has a good chance of winning this fight.

Hallman just has Hughes' number. Overall however, he is not that great of a fighter.

Yes, that's pretty much what I said in a nutshell.

That's not bad for an alternate fight...you could probably make a case for either of those guys actually being in the tourney.

Correction - "HAD" I very much doubt he would of ever been able to pull off another quick guillotine win
Pretty gash matchmaking imho, Salmon would of been a much tougher test for Cung Le than Sammy will be so they should of swapped those 2 imho
