Lol when did I say that Cro Cop would have won? If there weren't elbows he could have been subbed. If you read anything about mma you would know he said he coulden't see the high kick because the elbows blurred his vision. I love how your putting words in my mouth, and how is him not training with elbows not a fact? He didn't. Oh and please look up those meanings so next time you come to post you won't keep repeating what i've already answered, a reason and an excuse is a totally differen't thing, look it up and quit wasting both your time as well as mine.

CMill....you should end this argument....I follow what youre saying perfectly. But some of these guys arent comprehending too well...From the grammar i would be inclined to believe that some of these guys either dont speak english as a first langauge or are dumb because they cant even learn one language. Either way i see where youre coming from:

Reason(aka FACTS) - He was injured so he couldnt train properly. He got kneed in the nuts.

Excuse - He was overrated anyways. He got lucky.

I think its a matter of living in the past.I mean MMA is like any other sport when the team/fighter you like loses it upsets you and puts you on the defenseive side of things.Im a steelers fan they have won 5 super bowls ive only been alive for 1 since i was born in the 80's they won it in 2005 two years ago so that means for that year they were the best team in football.I guess where im going with this is you cant base or say someone is the best or should always win just cause of what they have done in the past or who they have fought and beaten/lost to.But what bothers me is that wether u call it an excuse, reason,or fact when someone loses who cares move on..Shogun lost Cro Cop isnt impressing anyone regardless of whatever reason/excuse you make bottom line is they lost get over it.Yes i know they have had great careers in pride and keyword is HAD cause its 2007 and as cliche as it sounds anything can,has and will happen..Just be glad that alot of the top Pride talent has come tothe UFC and make for excting fights against top talent and not fighting for a small org fighting in a smaller org.I think most people on here know how great the pride guys were before they came over but you seem to be the only one who has a reason/excuse when they lose..I mean i knew Shogun was a total badass but he lost thats the end of it..He will be back and hopefully he will win so we dont get anymore topics like this......

PS

Dear God,
Please allow all the Pride guys to start dominting in the ufc so the world can be a perfect place and we wont have to argue over whats an excuse and whats a reason......

I get it, because we don't see it your way that makes us either illiterate or English isn't our first language?

You forgot an apostrophe in the word "youre". It's you're. You also forgot the apostrophe in "arent". It's aren't. The "i", is capitalized. It's I. You missed the apostrophe in "dont". It's don't. Then again in cant (can't) and in youre (again it's you're)

So, the main question is, are you dumb, or isn't English your first language? Your writing skills leave much to be desired.

I was trying to show him what he posted wasn't a very bright thing. Because people don't agree with your opinion, but he does, he questions our intelligence. He responds with: From the grammar i would be inclined to believe that some of these guys either dont speak english as a first langauge or are dumb because they cant even learn one language.

That was full of quite a few errors. He misses apostrophes and commas. So what I was saying is, if he questions people about their intelligence, because they don't agree with you, but then posts something full of errors, does that make him the same?

I guess he didn't understand so decided his best course of action was to call me a jackass, that's cool. I'll look past that. In his post I can see him for what he is. Was I calling him dumb or illiterate? No. I was asking if he calls people dumb and then posts something full of errors, can he be labeled as dumb.

The one poster in this thread, tuvok500, is from Quebec, so there is a good chance that English is NOT his first language.

Yeah but just because someong this a fact doesn't mean it can't be an excuse either. For example Tito Ortiz was injured fighting Forrest Griffin. It's both a fact and an excuse. And why is this so hard to deal with? Because it hurts when people say that your favorite fighter is washed up, no good, has nothing to offer the fight game. But just because those things hurt, doesn't mean they aren't true.

I'm not peaved about you not using punctuation. Just trying to prove a point when you bring up grammer and then your post is full of mistakes. Not trying to make myself feel better. I have a family that makes me feel good. when my son or daughter says they love me, that makes me feel good.

Not that I've really contributed anything to this conversation, and not that it makes any difference... I just thought I'd put in my two cents like I do so often.

Anyway, so I had this Psychology professor that required writing reports based upon articles he would find. To him using contractions (e.g. don't, won't, it's, etc.) was laziness and showed grammatical inferiority. He would take off points for saying "don't" instead of "do not" and so on. So just thought I would mention that according to a University professor that teaches at a school accredited by an accrediting body (AACSB) that only accredits (yeah I realize how many times I used the damn word) the top 25% of all business schools (Including Harvard, Yale, etc.)... The way you type/speak is more grammatically correct than to use contractions.

So to you Rush.
