8 decisions??? How many do you pick?

Ive just been looking at my UFC FN picks and adding my details, and sure enough i came to the end and realised i had picked 8 decisions out of 12 fights, but i cant bare to change any for the sake of evening out the ratio, i do normally pick either 3 or 4 on a standard 9/10 fight UFC, but this card is so stacked with very competative fights its hard to choose finishes in some of those fights

Does anyone else wonder about this? I think if that many fights do go to the judges than there is almost a certainty for judge scoring retardation

I'm sticking with my gut instinct from now on, I think. Usually I talk myself into changing picks about 20 times prior to each event. I've gone with my gut instinct for all of the Secondary League this season and I'm doing rather well. Hopefully that translates and I do well on my picks for UFC Fight Night.

Yea i've also got a higher Number than Usual, 7 Decision (1 split), two KO/TKO, 3 Subs.

It definitely is a possibility, but I see a lot of finishes happening. I hope this doesn't turn out like UFC 76, which ironically was titled Knockout and we know how those fights went....Anyways, I have:

6 Subs.
2 TKO's

I could see 5-6 decisions at most though, yet I think 4 or 5 is more likely for this card. Crazy, I have 6 fights ending by submission, that seems crazier than your 8 decisions.

EDIT: Actually, I can see why you have a lot of decisions. I just rechecked my picks and I can see where you got 8. Damn, now you have me rethinking my picks now, I may change some. However, like emfleek said it is usually best to go with your gut, because when you do change picks/rounds you get screwed.

I have 3

The ones that I don't have that could likely make it are Thomas/Neer and Lauzon/Florian, 8 is possible of course but I don't really see it.

LOL 40oz we are going head to head

I feel like i have to change a few but my gut is telling me 8 decisions, hmmmmmmmm didnt help me much but thanks for the posts guys

Ive also had alot of problems going with gut or head or heart, sometimes ive changed picks for the better but more often than not they have been worse after a change, but i still feel like o have to change at least a few, cant pick more than half the fights ending with the judges

Actually bud my record is better than yours where it counnts - POINTS - and that from getting the methods right so i am favourite to win our lil duel

And yeah 80 was rough as f***! i tried picking upsets cos i knew there would be some, i just picked the wrong ones meaning i lost twice! id be so better off with that event last season! damn it if that costs me something at the end of the season

I only have 2 (Karo and Edgar) going to decision... all though almost had 4 or 5... but decided agaisnt a couple (din, Florian, and Hammill)

I have 4 fights ending in the first and 4 ending in the second. I also agree with you guys, there should be a lot of early finishes. Well, hopefully as that's how I see it going and we would get to see more fights as well.

Hmmm.... I shot low with 5 KOs. Some of you guys were pretty off.

LOL yeah it didnt turn out like i thought but i still did great, only picked 6 decision in the end and there were just 2 out of 12 fights!!!!!!!!!!!!! But i got 4 perfects so i was happy enough, no doubt i did better than 40oz as well

I had 3 perfect picks, not that bad. I hate picking decisions, because I only pick a few right and when it does go to a decision it usually goes to the guy who I didn't pick-Edgar vs. Maynard for instance. Another reason that I don't like picking decisions is because if it doesn't go to decision, the best you can get is 5. Obviously, there is a plus side to picking decisions, yet I see more downsides in picking decisions. In reality, usually only about 1/3 or less of the fights go to decision. There are exceptions of course, UFC 76 which was ironically named Knockout.
