The UFC is contemplating the elimination of fight-night and discretionary bonuses to fighters, the promotion's president told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

"You don't like the structure? All right, we'll pay the lower-level guys more money – no more f--king bonuses," Dana White said. "You guys come in, you negotiate your contracts, and we do away with all bonuses. That's what I'm thinking about doing."

I can't imagine that being needed, but I also don't work in financing. It comes down to management as well, a big fighter draws attention and memberships to gyms. Take that into account with sponsorships and media gigs payments.

Pretty soon MMA is going to have to pay the lower level fighters more. The UFC is basically the public face of MMA so Dana throwing a tantrum about guys complaining about making less than a garbage man, bar manager, teacher or whatever will eventually have to be addressed.

I can't wait for them to get better pay because I sure as hell know I wouldn't do what they do for an average wage.

Tim Kennedy is on double secret probation.

Dana's shtick is getting old. The bonuses are better for the organization then the fighter. They incentivize exciting fights. Dana must be super pissed to bluff this hard.

Every fighter should make more money than Dana.

Dana white just needs to pay guys more money. Period. Instead of paying the debuter ten thousand. Pay him 25. Make a minimums of 25 thousand. He can easily afford it. People like silva, GSP, etc dont complain about money for a reason. They won't ask for hire. It's just the middle tier fighters are. Pay more money out. He doesn't need to get rid of bonuses. The UFC is brining home some serious money.

And too think Dana White would always brag how much money the ufc made over top of the NFL, WWE, etc and the money those organizations are paying for those athletes? And with more athletes even. It's ridiculous that Dana white says the bonuses are stopping them for giving everyone a raise but bonuses are more fair. No,
It's Dana white and his posse that love to take extra money being made.

The issue here is, the job that some of these undercard fighters do, guys that the average person has never heard of, is actually worth less than the job a garbage man does. I despise that comparison.

If it wasn't for a few headlining bouts, these undercard fighters wouldn't be able to fill up my basement with fans for their fights.

If this is too harsh for some people I apologize. But I really REALLY get pissed about the comparison to garbage men or other jobs that are perceived as lowly.

I think Dana White is out of his mind he needs to pay the fighters what they deserve instead of raping them and making all the profits off the shows. I mean I know strike force paid better on average. I bet belitor does too. And he wants to bitch about having to pay lower lvl fights a little more cash. Like Jon Fitch. He was only one of the top fight in the ww division for five plus years. And he want to take away bonuses? I think he should pay the fighters better, and then maybe I could see them lowering the bonuses to like 25 to30 Gs.

okay so now Jon Fitch and Tim Kennedy are just nobody's? I'm sorry but I've trained and fought before so I know how much hard work and dedication goes into each training camp. These guys put it all on the line in there! I think they should get paid better then some high school drop out picking up your thrash can on the side of the road. And you whole argument about them being lower tier Fighters is flawed. because according to dana by the time you make it into the biggest show on earth you're not supposed to be a low tier fighter.

If the bottom tier guys made more it wouldn't be a good thing either...the trickle down effect would hurt every smaller org that ever tried to compete with the UFC.

As long as he loses he is helping fighter pay.

Dana doesn't pay the fighters out of his pocket. Zuffa pays them.

As long as Dana is losing his money in a station casino then that money is going into the Fertitta's pockets which can then go to the fighters.

He gambles because he cares

That's a pretty arrogant, ignorant, and uneducated statement.

1. Garbage men put in as hard of a day of work as anyone else.

2. In capitalism, the amount of work you do does not mean you will get paid more. It is the value of the work you do. In the entertainment world, if you are not known you will not make a lot of money. I wasn't referring to specifically Fitch or Kennedy, but if you make Jon Fitch the headlining man on a card, and I mean a card where he is the biggest fighter on the card, it would not sell out the smallest arena the UFC has been to in the last 10 years. THAT is why he got paid less. CAPITALISM.
