Dana White Says "Fedor Sucks" & Isn't Top 5 Heavyweight

During the UFC conference call today with company president Dana White and fighters Chuck Liddell, Wanderlei Silva and Brock Lesnar, White was questioned about Fedor Emelianenko. The man who many consider the number one Heavyweight and number one pound for pound fighter in the world, Dana White responded by saying "Fedor sucks."

Every time Dana White opens his mouth regarding Fedor and trying to trash his legacy, it sounds like a small child crying because he dropped his binky in the trash can. Give me a break, Dana! He should have created a general boring statement saying that he respects Fedor, etc. and it would have been done. Fedor isn't walking around saying Dana White is the worst President of a company ever.

Dana White is a classless asshole. That was his main problem with Fedor not wanting to sign. Some people may think oh yeah he says whats on his mind and tells it like it is, but seriously he's an ass. He lacks some serious class, as the president of a supposedly world class company you should have some restraint. Don't talk in the media like your sitting at a pub. And classy guys like Fedor dont roll with garbage like that. No matter what the offer would have, could have been to come to the UFC Fedor just didn't want to work for that asshole and can you really blame him?

Dana is entitled to his opinion. And though I agree that Fedor needs to be tested by top heavy weights other than Big Nog and CC, I don't think it's correct to trash him.

Personaly , i have fedor 5th in the HW ranking, so i agree about having to fight real competition before being on top of the 2007 ranking.

i will not say that fedor sucks or anything like that, but i understand that dana want to speak his mind sometimes, personaly, i think that fedor have choked and now, he can put anything in his contract to try to hide the truth but if you really want to fight the best and it is not about the money, stop crying and go where the bests fighters are !!

Dana promote his product and it is perfectly normal in this kind of business to try to put some darkness on your competitor !!! LOL ( i know darkness is weird but i have a problem to find another word sorry ) !!! LOL

I know, the thing is that sometimes its just funny and gets out of the concept falling into nonsense. A better answer for that question : "We don't need him here" or something like that.

Right now he's the top promoter, he doesn't have all the best fighters(as he said he would) no matter what you UFC huggers want to beleive, he really missed out on alot of top guys, and signed Lesnar. Insulting someones heritage and country as Dana did won't get you the guy you want, especially when it's a country that grew up anti-american. Every educated mma fan knows or should know that what fedor has done in mma is unmatched, he beat everyone at their own game, literally, he's done it all, and no not beating randy isn't going to tarnish his legacy. He doesn't need to fight in the UFC, if M-1 does go under(don't think it will) he won't sign with the UFC, especially after Dana said he "sucks" because why would he? I don't care what Dana says anymore, he just spouts off like a little kid, but doesn't he realize that hey contracts expire? and some companies fail, and then he would be able to get Fedor? Nope, he wants to cry and whine like a 2 year old. I think dana, promoter or not, should respect mma since alot of the fans that watch and beleive what he says are watching mma as a fad, and if he keeps alienating all these fighters they'll leave and so will his die hard fans.

So, if Fedor sucks, then does that mean he's now insulted some of his top heavyweights for losing to him? Cro Cop, Big Nog, Herring? It's going to be funny when Big Nog destroys all the other UFC HW competition and fans are left knowing that he had his ass handed to him by a guy who Dana couldn't sign.

It's comments like these that make Dana White impossible to like.

Dana is just pissed because Fedor wont sign and make him some more
money. Fedor is still no.1 in my opinion, why would Dana say something
like that, theres no heavyweight in UFC that would dominate Fedor, Couture
and White should watch what they say or Fedor just might get fed up
and sign then Fedor will own the HW division.

We know he doesnt suck, we know that despite being on the shelf, is still likely a top3 hw in the world if still not no.1 (although if you dont fight in 2007, you cant be at the top of 2007). He said this for the casual UFC fan, as a UFC fan. These fans dont know who fedor is, they dont know his legacy. What they do know is that the ufc tried to sign him for some ridiculous money, and the deal fell through. Dana could've said a bunch of things.. like "i hate dealing with crazy russians", or "the requested terms of his contract were above and beyond any contract ever signed by the ufc", or even "they were full of shit and now he's stuck in a mediocre organization fighting mediocre opponents". He didnt. He said fedor sucks, the same way a canucks fan would say the flames suck, and the same way a pats fan would say the colts suck. This is how dana is, and thats how casual UFC fans relate to him. You might lose a few hardcore fans from statements like these, but it pales in comparison to the amount of causal fans you gain. And how hardcore of a fan are you if you stop watching the highest calibre promotion in the world cause you dont like the president? I watch for the fights, feel free to watch for the politics.

i am not sure what everyone else read but what i clicked on was link to a briefing of the conf. call. without hearing how he said it or what was said before or after i dont want to judge dana. yeah he can come across like a guy at a bar but i like that. would rather watch him like that then a guy who knows hes loaded and thinks hes better then everyone else. we have the right to bash or praise whoever but when they say what they feel they become assholes because they run a big company?? dont understand the logic

I was talking to the guy who was doing the interview this was said in, and he says dana was genuine in his statement.

What a fascinating thing to say.

Fedor doesn't suck. Dana knows that, everyone who's seen Fedor knows that. How MANY people have actually seen Fedor, is a whole other story. Diehards who love MMA so much they will even play in a Fantasy MMA League (*cough* ) have certainly seen him...but the casual fan hasn't. Shoot, I talk to people who claim to be fans of MMA & more than a few of them never even heard of Wanderlei (#$%^ I can never spell his name right) Silva. They've never heard of Fedor, either.

I have to agree, tho...him saying Fedor Sucks, is like me saying the Pats & Red Sox suck. I know they don't, but I'm just so freaking pissed that they rule so damn hard I tell myself they suck, LOL (& anyone else who will listen)

I totally agree it isn't any way for a professional businessman to handle himself....but Dana is pretty far removed from a typical businessman. He's a former boxing promoter & when I think about "how a businessman's hair should look"...Don King's doo doesnt come to mind, either.

I don't really like or dislike Dana White, but I sure love the loverly brand of ultra-violence he brings to my screen on a regular basis. May he continue to bring it for many years to come.

He's P4P IMO becuase if he dropped down everybody at 170 gets KTFO. At 185 everybody is already getting KTFO, and if he was a little heavier I think he could give Rampage a bad day too like Wandy & Shogun did...
