Dana White: UFC to hold press conference on July 31 to announce "a lot of crazy things"

The UFC is on the verge of some major announcements.

During a guest spot today on the ESPN 1100 Radiothon, a 24-hour fundraiser for The Caring Place cancer charity, UFC president Dana White said the organization will soon hold a major press conference, tentatively planned for July 31.

He referenced the media event when asked about reports of Affliction halting operations and becoming a UFC sponsor, the possibility of the UFC acquiring Affliction contracts, whether or not Fedor Emelianenko could be signed to the UFC, and whether a rumored deal with ESPN could come to fruition.

"We're working on some big things," White said without going into specifics. "It's going to be a lot of crazy things. ... There will be a laundry list of things addressed."

yeah I have been wondering what the news that was going to shock the world of MMA a few weeks back was...let alone the possibilities of what next weeks "announcement" could be. Fedor v Brock UFC 107 or 108
Vitor in the UFC...A weekly ESPN fight show(showing up and coming fighters or unaired prelims of pay perviews) I would be happy with any or all of these

Oh, man. I am excited. Sounds like Dana has got some big things brewing up. I really want to see what these big announcements are. I would love to see ESPN start broadcasting some UFC fights, that would be huge for the sport.

Yea like: we just bought Fedor's contract. And Hendo will be beating up Tito instead of Franklin.

Dana is good at getting people pumped about even the small things. He makes the smallest press announcements sound huge. But I have a feeling there will be some big stuff to announce on the 31st. Think about it who would have thought a week ago that Josh would test positive and Affliction would can its show and rejoin the UFC. Then top that off with Tito coming back. Its been a crazy week and I have a feeling things will just get crazier on the 31st.
