If you just admitted PRIDE has better talent, better cards and better rules, how did UFC out do them?? When PRIDE was with Fuji TV (which is like HBO in Japan) they outdid the UFC in every way. Last time I checked SpikeTV isn't premium cable. UFC outdid them by not aligning with mobsters and trying to fix some of their early fights?? True, but that's all.

Hmmmmm I'd say buying PrideFC was kind of outdoing them buisiness wise. The only thing I preferred about Pride was the cards because using the ring was horrible, and personally I don't like when your allowed to stomp/kick someone in the face when they are downed it's too easy and too dangerous.

You are talking about two different markets. The ufc "out-did" Pride in the American mma-market, but Pride crushed them in the Japanese market.

The only arguement (imo) you can really make to support your statement is that Pride was out-done by waiting too long to hit America, and as such, ufc was already too big to overcome.

The rest of pride's misfortunes had nothing to do with the ufc.

Juice, you just got back from a ban, and it looks like you didn't learn anything.Since you are already angering people without cause,I think you may need to think about how to post for a while longer. Actually I was the one who was banned, not my brother, but we share a computer. I find it funny he gets banned, when nobody is getting mad, people are still debating intelligently yet you seem to have a problem with it. At least he started this thread, otherwise no one would even know about this. Not only that look at how many posts he has and look at the props he's received. Maybe he slipped and called somebody an idiot once, but to ban him for that, is a joke.

And why is this other guy hating on PRIDE's ring?? Last time I checked every single combat sport is in a ring, from boxing, to k-1, to even wwe wrestling. An octagon?? Stomping is too easy?? How many guys finished fights with stomps in PRIDE's history other then Chute Boxe?? PRIDE has better fighters, better cards, better formats (tournaments), better presentation, more people in attendance, and better announcers (when Bas was around)...UFC did nothing to PRIDE. PRIDE owners had mafia ties, lost their cable deal in Japan because of it, and as mentioned took too long to come to the U.S. Their demise had nothing to do with UFC what so ever, the fact that their 2nd last card (which was in the U.S.) was 3x better then Stacked and any other card UFC has ever produced displays that IMO

Makes fun of Mirko, calls fedor a crazy russian, makes fun of tito, makes fun of wandy....he might know how to attract people, but fighters tend to not be push overs/weak minded people, shoulden't attack them if they work for you, or you want them to. Dana needs to take a step back and realize that fedor wants certain things, Mirko does things a certain way, tito's a weird dude, and wandy said he wants to take a year off. Relax when people don't crumble in front of you, this isn't the TUF set, these guys aren't andy wang.

Fedor aint as bad you makin him out to be. He fights smart but i bet if he comes on down to the UFC he gets his first loss. And I bet Randy, Arlovski, and CC would all on a good day beat him! The man is nasty but he will be beat.

Regardless, Dana needs to move on his attitude sucks and they need a business man in there.

Dana White is obviously delussional in the sense that he really has no idea how much money or what demands to give Fedor. The worst thing Dana White did was come out in the media and state he would have Fedor by the end of the year. That gave Fedor all the leverage he needed to demand exactly what he wanted with zero compromises. If Dana would have just backed off, possibly given Fedor a glimpse of the amount of money he could see, he may have gotten a bit of give from Fedor. But forget it now. Like I said 4 months ago, Bodog probably has a better chance at Fedor purely based on the fact that they hold events in Russia, have a Red Devil team in Bodog that Fedor trains with, and is willing to non-exclusive Fedor.

Fact is, Fedor is not going to be beaten in the UFC for at least his first 3-4 fights. Arvloski is a joke to Fedor, Sylvia would probably get his leg amputated, and Randy is way too small to even fathom beating Fedor, and obviously was dumb enough to standup with Liddell, who does nothing but standup fight people. Give Fedor what he wants and strike a deal with a European/Asian market cable company to provide PPV for the fights and watch the millions role in from the PPV revenue from overseas.

Fedor is the greatest MMA fighter of all time, give him what he wants, and give the fans what they want, and get over yourself, Dana. Just because you've met your match at the bargaining table doesn't mean you need to shoot your mouth off. Fact is, Russians are poor as hell, and he's trying to make his dollar for himself and his family.

All an organization is, is a place to fight. its MEANINGLESS when compared to the fighters themselves.


If Dana loses Fedor(the undeniable #1 heavyweight in the f*cking world) because he is a crude moron who "tells it like it is"....do you really think he won't lose others?


The more talent he lets go elsewhere, the less dominance ufc has over these so-called "joke" organizations. The ufc was already crushed in the mma market once...and it took about 10 years for them to re-establish themselves as #1(and they only did so, thanks to Pride's series of unfortuante business happenings)

Let Elitexc sign Fedor to an exclusive contract and tell me its a joke.

and 10 years from now when they are the #1 brand in mma (thanks to stupidass business moves by dana) maybe I'll share a laugh with you.

Here's a situation for people who don't think it's a big deal. Josh Barnett is still a F/A, so is mark hunt, aleks emilianenko, and others i'm sure, now if fedor signs with we'll say K-1 Hero's, I'm sure he'll have some pull in saying this is a better org sign here guys. The UFC could lose some of the best HW's(I'm focusing on HW because fedor's a HW). Then lets say Mirko get's his ass in gear and fights like he can and boom he becomes UFC HW champ(we all know he can if he gets his mind right), So now Mirko's the champ, his contrat is up and he wants to fight 2-3 more fights, the UFC offers him bundles of money ect. BUT we all know who Mirko wants to fight, wil he a)Go to K-1 to fight in the ring he likes, and fight his biggest rival Fedor? or B) Stay in the UFC to fight Big Nog, and ....
(The same could be said for big nog, fighters want to fight the best)

Aleks is a non-issue, two felonies = no visa to the U.S. to fight.

Yeah, let's talk about Dana being such a poor businessman. That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. He's helping the UFC AND MMA become more mainstream which is bringing in new fans. New fans = More money. More money=good business. Good business=Good business decisions. I've watched the UFC, PRide, and every other MMA organization for years and what Dana has done for the UFC in the last few years has been amazing. He gets every event talked about on ESPN now, including airing some weigh-ins. Dana and Joe Rogan are doing interviews on ESPNews all the time. He signed a deal with SpikeTV. I think he's doing pretty damn good.
I hope to God that Fedor comes to the UFC. If he does, he's not coming for Dana, he's coming for himself. He's coming for the money, and the better fights (better competition). Bodog can offer him just as much if not more money than Dana can, but if Fedor's smart, he'll come to the UFC.

Fighters have egos. They want to fight the best. To be the best they have to beat the best. Granted, Fedor has beaten pretty much everyone in Pride, but to keep fighting the best, he needs to come to the UFC.

fedors legacy is on the line here. if fedor chooses not to sign with the ufc then it will forever tarnish his legitimacy as the greatest fighter ever. sure everyone will still consider him to be great but if his talents are wasted away in bodog or some other half rate org then we will all be left wondering why the greatest fighter opted to fight lesser opponents instead of the best.
