I think they were probably discussing how it would play out. Randy will most likely retire and then make up with the UFC so that he will still be able to do commentary for them. Obviously I hope that he fights Nog but I just don't see it happening. Randy has already established himself as a legend and I don't think he wants another broken arm ala Gonzaga or even worse, an injury that will affect the rest of his life. He really does not very much to gain from any fight except the fight with Fedor. Dana was probably trying to quash the beef because a lot of fighters in Randy's gym fight for them and the last thing they want to see is his fighters leaving the UFC. Randy will always be an integral part of the UFC and I think that Dana was trying to ensure that.
BTW Karo "I'm sorry for my performance" Parisyan is absolutely classic!!!

He should keep that nickname until he actually finishes a fight!
