The man is 49 years old and has been in 100 professional MMA fights. He's compiled an amazing 79-14-7 record with only ONE (T)KO loss.
He's fought SEVEN times 2007 (take that Fedor!) and won 6 of those fights. He fought 3 of those fights in a span of 2 weeks.
I just want to give him some respect. He was a pioneer of the sport and apparently he's still enjoying it as much as anybody else.
Dan is a true warrior.

Agreed, it's amazing to see a man at his age competing in a sport like MMA, and at such a high level.

I just heard an interview with Dan and he just loves to compete. He says father time is catching up with him, but not word of retirement.

yeah pretty amazing accomplishment. How many fighters have more than 100 professional MMA fights? I think Jeremy Horn does. Anyone think of any others?

his birthday is june 8 1958 which makes him 49 years and 21 days old. also if you watch like the uu95 it says hes 37 so by my calculations that makes him 49

weh.... I thought the guy died for a second... I think I was just in the wrong state of mind to read "tribute"...
But on the topic, definitely mad props to Dan... A pioneer of the sport, who in his latter years is more active than any two big org fighters put together... He is the ultimate gatekeeper of the sport... If you look at any young up and comer in the highers weight classes, they have probably gone against Severn at some point early in their career.

well on sherdog its listed as him being 53 and google says he is 55
so whats your source?

High level??? Maybe not. But he does fight a whole hell of a lot.
It is thouhg a fairly high level of fighting. Esp considering he owns his own small MMA org (dangerzone) a school and does seminars.
