Evidently at least one UFC fighter didn't learn from recent incidents about fighters getting in trouble for what they said-the latest case is War Machine. The former Jon Koppenhaver reportedly was cut this week by UFC due to controversial (and rather incendiary) postings about fighter pay and one clearly aimed at Evan Tanner.

not the brightest idea by war machine. He should have not said anything about evan tanner and should have just taken the other fight and shut his mouth.

Whats the fastest way to get cut from the UFC. Use the death of a great man and fighter Evan (even saying you think he killed himself because of money) to complain about the amount of money your making. He didn't even know Tanner.

Then he turns down a fight because he doesn't think he has anything to gain from it because the other guy is unknown. You lost your last fight in less than a min and now your turning down fights with a UFC record of 1-1 because you don't think you have anything to gain and in your own words and the guy they want you to face is tough as nails.

So lets see here you disgraced yourself by using Evan's ( a guy you didn't even know) death to complain about money. You have made it look like your hard to work with by only taking fights you think are worthy and scared to fight good fighters. To top this all off you have almost 0% drawing power yourself. Yeah I don't know what else you could do to get fired just short of slapping Dana or one of the Fertitta brothers.

This is will be the last time any of us hear of him. He was mediocre at best and the UFC gave him the little bit of recognition he has.

Give War Machine a little bit of a break, he isn't all there. The guy clearly was brain damaged at some point in his life.

Of course he wasn't all there, the guy signed a 10 FIGHT CONTRACT WITH THE UFC!!!! He left himself no room to negotiate. I'm not a fighter but I know better than to sign a contract like that with the UFC.

He didn't take the fight cause he knew he would lose.

And now he is just talking to get noticed.

"I'm still new, and to be honest, I wasn't going to be a contender in the UFC anytime soon anyway."

Well there was an honest statement. I hate to see fighters self-destruct, but maybe everyone benefits from this one.

War Machine: I never though you were a good fighter and these statements just make me respect you less, specially the Tanner statement. Grow up little kid and get a job that fits you.

If this kid had any sense at all he would know that Tanner did not care about the money......Evan would not even take any sponsors in his last two fights.....He was all about living on the edge......RIP Tanner....Goodbye WarMachine.....

This guy made his own demise. First off, never make comments like that until you know everything about a story, it made him look like a fool. Secondly, WHY would you sign a TEN fight deal with ANYONE? If you happen to beat someone decent and get a good fighter and say beat 2 good veterans, you are 3 fights into your contract and you should probably get more money soon but NO you have SEVEN more to go. Who is this guy (I refuse to say his name its the dumbest name ever) to turn down a fight? He is no top tier fighter or maybe not even a main card fighter yet, he should fight whoever he can and whoever they give him.

War Machine speaks his mind so I respect that. In a way I agree with him in s0me respect. I think Evan Tanner was going out there with the intention of never coming back. He could have phrased it better, but that's War Machine, blunt and to the point.

He should have taken the fight. So I think the UFC is within their right to cut him. Frankly the UFC should be doing it with a lot more people. If you're a big name and a real contender then yeah if they're trying to throw you in there with no-names then I can understand wanting name fighters. War Machine isn't a big name though, so he has to take the guys they give him.

I thought the same thing when I heard about Tanner even said and on here and got in trouble. As far as not taking a fight how badly he lost his last fight he was in no spot to tell the UFC who he was going to fight.

Me, I have no respect for anybody who can talk about the dead when they are not here to defend themselves. That's a cheap shot. Like mentioned above, Tanner did not care about money as much as a lot of fighters in the UFC. To say that he committed suicide without even knowing the man sounds like a punk ass thing to say, personally. War Machine can only hope to be a quarter of a fighter that Evan Tanner was, and will never compare to be that good of a man, in and out of the ring. R.I.P.:Evan Tanner
