Cung Le always give me a mysterious image because of his undefeat streak and how he used san shou skill toward his MMA opponent...

Anyway, do you think Cung could still keep his undeat legacy when he's facing someone like Frank SHamrock?

that would be a very though and ineresting match, i think Cung Le needs one more fight, to prove to all the haters that he's the real deal and i think after that fight if he wins, i beileve he will be ready for a title shot

If he beats Frank, he'll definitely get some love. There may even be the possibility that he could come into the UFC and face Anderson Silva. Then he'd really get love.

Cung is one of the most immpressive strikers out there... Anyone will have trouble if they stand with him... but the ground game just leaves too many ????'s for most people to hop on the bandwagon just yet... Sure is fun to watch fight though

Cung Le has good technique, and knows how to push an opponent who isn't prepared for his skills, but much like CroCop, if he were to get pressed by another striker, I am pretty sure he'd lose his spark.

I don't quite know what you mean by being pressed by another striker causes Mirko to lose his spark but they have both had very good K-1 careers, not really a place to fight if you don't do well against strikers....

K-1 striking is quite different from MMA striking, I'm sure you know this. My point is though, when a fighter is not afraid of a striker like CroCop or Cung Le, and they have a good gameplan to get inside into a clinch or take them down, I think the kickboxer advantage becomes severely depleted. Until Cung Le can show that he can work outside of his comfort zone, then maybe I'll start some nuthangin.

Indeed, still many people doubting about cing's ground skill, include me....This may be the reason why he doesn't join UFC at the first place. Even in K-1, he's only fight for the San Shou rules....

(To be honest, I feel a little shame for Cung, too heavy to fight Buakaw, and too light to fight someone like Tito, Rampage and Iceman...)

Anyway, do you think Cung still have weight disadvantage against Frank ?

ill have to disagree with your assertion that another striker will be the guy who gives le the most problems. i think the ground game is where the questions are. his striking is very good and can match up with anyone standing.
and cro-cop has had some"off" nights but for the most part he also does very well when poeple cant get him down or hold him in the clinch

I don't know why you think the people are Cung haters.

The guy is 4-0 with impressibe KO/TKOs over guys that are average at best and/or who are in major losing streaks.

I cannot judge a guy where there isn't much MMA data to judge him by. I'm sure others feel the same. His takedowns look great in SanShou but do those translate well to MMA? How will Cung do in the clinch or on the ground?

Title shot? Whom would he fight? Shamrock?

I read an interview on one of my MMA news sites earlier today and he noted that his one real (and obvious) weakness is against takedowns, but so far he's been able to negate that with his standup game and strikes. So if he can improve there and integrate it into his game, he'll be even better.

As for the title shot, I did hear some rumors about him possibly being in line to face Shamrock for the Strikeforce MW Title at some point if he wins tonight, but he probably wouldn't earn it just with a win.

Le was very impressive in his win over morgan. Him facing Shamrock is going to be a great test and fight
