Cub Swanson Reflects on Jens Pulver, Prepares for Fight Outside WEC

In the aftermath of a disappointing 35-second submission loss to Jens “Little Evil” Pulver (22-8-1) at December’s WEC 31 event, lightweight Cub Swanson (11-2-0) still finds it difficult to cope with the results of that night.

Swanson reflected on the fight, and looked to the future, while a guest on Wednesday’s edition of TAGG Radio (www.taggradio.com), a partner site of MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

I don't think Swanson has a chance against Pulver, and the way he played down the fact that he got choked out by saying it was only cause it was a wrestling move that jens knew about it... kinda classless.

Wouldn't you rather lose in the WEC, than win in IFBL Fight Night 11 in Niles, Ohio?! I mean WEC has the strongest 145 lbs. division in USA. Why would one voluntarily go fight a smaller org, when WEC wants you on their card? Isn't it better to try your chances in the big league?

What do you guys think?

Who would even want to risk something like that. If he wins so what, its another win on his record and maybe a confidence booster. If he loses that fight though, he will basically be taking backwards steps career wise.

This interview makes me think that Cub is just one of those guys who thinks of reasons why stuff doesnt go his way, instead of trying to fix them himself.

Wow, I can't believe this guy is still making excuses on why he lost to Jens Pulver. Even if these guys rematch down the road (which will probably happen). The results will be the same, Pulver will win.

Man what a load. The goal of a fighter is to move forward not regress to lower ranks

Jens is one of the best 140 pound guys out there who the hell is Cub... you shot in and got choked by the former UFC LW champ... hes calling its BS... the more skilled fighter won plain and simple... 99 times out of 100 Pulver would whoop the crap out of Cub... i think they should rematch just so jens can use him as a punchin bag for 12 minutes then sink in a nasty choke again or some other sub Cub has never herd of

I don't agree with the whole "Jens will destroy Cub most of the time". I think Cub is a gifted fighter who has talent in all aspects of the MMA game. His fight with Micha Miller proved his ability to withstand an onslaught of submission attempts by a great BJJ fighter. His standup has been proven by his rank. He got caught by Jens, and very quickly. 99 times out of 100 I think that fight had the makings of an all out war and Cub has just as much of a chance to beat Jens as the other way around. Prior to the fight, I didn't think Jens would beat him if he couldn't catch him with that left hook of his.

Bad decisions or not, I think Cub Swanson is one of the best fighters in his division. I think he should stay in the WEC though. His next fight should have been against Jeff Curran in my mind and that could be an amazing bout. Whatever he does, I'll support him in that. WAR CUB
