I'm confident I'll fight again. I'm also OK with the idea that it may not happen," Couture said Saturday at the opening of his seventh Xtreme Couture gym. "I may get a bad (court) ruling and I can't really see myself at this point going back and fighting two more times for the UFC if that's what the state says I have to do. So there's the potential I could be done fighting and I'm OK with that too."

While he is waiting for his contract to run out why not just fight Nog? He is being selfish in the sense that he just left Nog with a fake title and thinks that he is too good to fight him. Just come back for one fight, make a little money and then wait it out.

me neither but i've halfway been expecting this

i know he might want anotehr pay day but if he truly only wants Fedor he might just sit out long enough to quit

if Fedor loses to Timmay, he def wont have anyone to fight

What a waste of talent....I seriously can't believe that it's soo bad that he couldn't just keep to his word!! Fight Nog ..... he's a legend in the sport...then destroy some guy like Mir or Vera and leave the UFC ..... shit if he had started this process from the beggining it would be done already and he would probably be fighting Fedor in Affliction instead of Tim Sylvia.

I'm getting to the point where I could care less about Randy Couture. There are a lot of other fighters out there puttin on good fights. I'm not about to waste my time with a guy that's not even fighting.

I also could care less about Randy Couture. He didn't deserve his title fight in the first place and now he refuses to fight Nogueira.

For all of the good things he does for the sport (which are many); I will always remember him for receiving the most undeserving title shot in UFC history and for not sticking to his word.

To me it's a shame just for he fact that now he will be remembered for how he left MMA rather than how he helped bring MMA mainstream. I don't understand he would have went down as an unbelievable legend. He still is but a lot of people just getting to know MMA are going to think he's just another greedy athlete. It's bad for everyone.Nothing good will ever come from this.

Wow, reading crap comments like this kind of makes me ashamed to be an MMA fan. Randy has devoted a good chunk of his life and done huge things for this sport. Now that he is at the end of his career, he wants to test himself against the top heavyweight in the world, THAT SELFISH BASTARD!!

People posting that he could have fought NOG by now don’t seem to understand the toll on the body that both training and fighting take, what if he got hurt? The guy is 44 years old; he may only have ONE fight left in him.

IMO he shouldn't have signed for more then. No one knows ones body better than ones self. Plus ..... he went back on his word!!!! That says a lot to me.

Could not have put it better myself soldier ive been such a Randy fan but when he 1st said that Fedor was the only fight for him I just thought what an egotistical ****!!!! how can he think he has a better record than Big Nog? i and many fans would be JUST as excited to see that fight as the Fedor one and i cant believe that Randy honestly thinks that way, the only answer is he thinks he would lose to Nog

i think that it is stupid of randy to just kinda leave like that. He is the true champion and should at least have 1 more fight against Big Nog to end his career for good

This whole thing has been a huge change in Randy's personality and I've lost a lot of respect for him as a person. He's still a great fighter in my opinion but I just can't seem to like him as much as I used to.

Right on point.

This guys' ego has gotten so big now maybe that should fight Fedor!

I don't care if Randy ever fights again, his story bores me now and i view Nog as the legitimate HW champ anyway, because he's actually willing to defend the title
