I need a converter

a program mac OS if possible, to convert avi. files to mepeg or quicktime etc.
i am trying to use them in an editing program (final cut pro) which doesnt support avi.

I don't have a MAC, but this will do the trick from what i read. Search this and it will come up with a FAQ to use it I think.

Prism Video Convertoer or Total Video Converter should do the job.
