I'm not a big fan of compustrike but this pretty much proves the FACT that Forrest out worked Rampage and deserved the win.

Are you serious? This just "proves" that Forest threw a bunch of wild punches, most of which didn't land, and most of which were weak.

Jackson threw many less strikes(39% of the number Forest threw), yes, but he had 50% more power strikes, and with about 50% more accuracy overall. It all depends on your criteria for a win; if you value hundreds of worthless strikes that mostly don't land and don't do damage, over accurate powerful strikes, then I guess Forest really wrecked him.

Is 'outworked' really the best way to judge fights?

I honestly am thinking about buying those of you who think Rampage won a plane ticket. So we can watch the fight together, because maybe I'm watching a different fight? Who knows, the one I watch myself and the judges agree that Forest won. Damn HD makes everything better.

Well what do you put more value on, jabs that don't do damage, or hooks that chatter teeth? Oh and John Ramdeen off of TFN thinks Rampage won 3-2.

How about all the kicks, the ground control, ring control, submission attempts. All Rampage did was throw bombs. This was not a boxing match. If it was then Rampage would have won. He should have came out like he said and not let it go to decision. Ok he rocked him a couple of times he should have finished him.

ok this proves what we already know ... rampage throws harder punchs ... and griffin might not have out boxed him but he out stroke him with kicks ... and thats not even putting the ground game into it ... the stand up was close but this proves to me forrest won u get more points for aggresvines ring controll and grappling as oppose 2 hitting hard for rampage

Takedowns wen't to rampage, as did knockdowns, Forrest coming in missing a kick, and being hit then backing out counts as ring control? I don't know man I think Rampage won that 3 rounds to 2, with the possibility or a 10-8(I don't think there was enough damage to call it a 10-8).

Edit: the ground game was only relavent for round two, it wasn't there much after that.

Ok so he did knock him done. I did not see many hard strikes when on top then Forrest got up. I only seen rampage have Forrest in BIG trouble in the first round. After that he was just trying to knock him out. I thought it was a good fight. I actually did not think Forrest had a chance. I do think him did more to score points and pretty much neutralize Rampage in this fight. The kicks was the difference in my eyes.

you did not read the entire report, Forrest landed a crap load of leg kicks, had submission attempts and a few knees and Rampage had non of those, he definitely out worked Rampage

Show me the judging specifications or rules that say you get more points for aggressiveness and ring control than for land power combos with a high potential to finish the fight.

Can't do it?

That's because it doesn't exist. You just made that up and claimed it as a fact.

The fact of the matter is that it's completely subjective and there is absolutely no guideline for what techniques are valued higher than others outside of personal preference. A boxing judge is likely to favour standup exchanges, while a judge with a background in wrestling is more likely to favour takedowns and ground control. Why? Because there IS NO RULE about what criteria are most important. It's completely about any individual judge's personal preference. This is a big problem and the entire reason decisions are even debated.

If there was a simple outline that said "aggressiveness and octagon control are the most important factors when scoring rounds" the way that you claim there is, there wouldn't be any argument. So whether you believe forrest won or not, your claim is completely incorrect. If that rule existed I would be right there with everyone else saying forrest won. That isn't the case and a very large group of people think that landing powerful combinations with the potential to end the fight is far more important than "outworking" your opponent with a much higher number of less powerful strikes.

If we had simple outline of what techniques are valued relative to one another there would be virtually no dispute about any decision, and it would be significantly more fair to the fighters themselves as they would realize exactly what judges are looking for.

Wow i can t see how Rampage won that one, Forrest won the fight thats all it is he is gonna fight Chuck next then rampage will fight the winner.

Thats why you should never let a fight go to the judges

Heres something I have noticed, outta everyone that picked rampage, about 50% of them are saying Page won, 30% are saying a Draw, and The other 20% are saying Rampage won.

Outta the people that picked Forrest 80 % say he won, 15% say Draw, 5% say Rampage won.

and also, on Sherdog, they are leaning more towards Rampage. Is it because Sherdog is a buncha guys who can't handle that Pride is dead? because fabricating quotes is what they do to try and show that fighters are siding with Rampage. but its the opposite. Most fighters I have seen or talked too (sorta Bias cuz its from Team Tompkins) say Forrest won the 3rd and 5th rounds (which are the toss up rounds)

And 1 question.

When Forrest Beats Rampage In The Rematch By Unanimous Decision, Then What?

Remember when at tuf rampage told forest their fight wasn't going to the judges?

Rampage has been on the lucky side of judge decisions before (matt lindland) and I think for a fight this close people need to just let it go. They will fight each other again and soon.

it's just a difference of opinion about what's more important, and no one's going to change their minds, so it's pointless to argue. People should realize what the disagreement is really about though. It's not about the fight, it's about judging criteria. Everyone thinks something different is important.
