Bellator Fighting Championships is heading to Canada, and "The Polish Hammer" meets "The So-Cal Kid."

MMAjunkie.com has confirmed that WEC and IFL veteran Chris Horodecki has signed on with Bellator Fighting Championships and will meet Chris Saunders at Bellator 47.

Featuring the semifinals of Bellator's "Summer Series" featherweight tournament, Bellator 47 takes place July 23 at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada.

I didn't know Horodecki was 17-3.... That's a good record where I come from. Too bad all I know him for is running away from, and subsequently getting KO'ed by, Anthony Njokuani.

I will watch, as I do with all Bellator events. Pretty entertaining fights, pretty terrible judges. I'm rooting for "The So-Cal Kid", whoever that is

He had some excellent showings in the IFL but since that point he's looked decent at best. Turning his back on Njokuani was a terribly poor decision.

Ah. I watched a little IFL back in the day. There were so many orgs for a minute there..... it was awesome! UFC, WEC, IFL, I forget what else there was... they would show Strikeforce and Elite XC on Fox Sports West I believe, in the early am, before they got the Bellator rights from ESPN Deportes.

I wonder what would have happened if ESPN had put Bellator on a channel people actually had and watched... like ESPN2!

The fanbase would be larger for sure. Bellator started out really small but they've been making all the right moves and putting on excellent shows week after week. How fast they go doesn't matter. They'll be a bigger competitor than Strikeforce ever was.

Horodecki was the talk of IFL all the way until his lose at the hands of Ryan Shultz in the finals of the lightweight tourny. Since then haven't heard much from him. Good to hear he's back in action with Bellator

That Schultz loss was crazy. I remember watching it live thinking there was no way Horodecki was going to lose to him. Boy, was I wrong. Schultz gave him a good old fashioned school yard beat down. But seriously, losing to Schultz means you're not going to the ufc.
