Chris ‘The Crippler’ Leben: I’m going to make 20,000 people shut-up at UFC 89

UFC middleweight contender Chris Leben was our guest on this weeks broadcast of Pro MMA Radio. Presented by MMAmania.com, Pro MMA Radio airs live every Monday night at 9pm and features many of the top fighters from the UFC and beyond.

‘The Crippler’ didn’t waste any time getting into his fight with Michael Bisping at UFC 89. Leben gives credit to Bisping’s technical approach but isn’t impressed with his power. He also believes people underestimate his (Leben’s) ground game.

Leben predicts he will win by knockout.

Larry asks him about the short stint he did in prison that kept him out of UFC 85 and the story behind choking out one of his fellow inmates.

Chris also talks about his fight with Anderson Silva and how he had it in his head that he was going to knock him out in the first round - and how that mental mistake cost him the fight.

I hope leben wins. It would mess up TUF UK vs US if bisbing loses. I like Leben and it would be a launching point for him. EDIT: By the way the part with leben doesn't start til about 25 min in

I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally hope he's right. I'd love to see Bisping get dealt with.

I as well would love to see Chris cripple Bisping (figuratively not literally... maybe little bit literally but i digress) and i think he has a pretty damn good shot at doing it too. I think people see the fight Bisping has with Chainsaw McCarthy and were impressed. I however was not. Of course a "striker" like Bisping would beat a sub-par "grappler" like Chainsaw who for a lot of the fight was simply trying to trade with him. Pishaw i say. WAR LEBEN.

maybe he will zone out and have a 'daddy' moment like he did against terry martin and end up knocking bisping out after taking a beating. otherwise I don't see him breaking down bisping, I don't see bisping knocking him out but definitely out pointing him. anyways, they are just grooming him to another lamb led to the anderson silva slaughter.

I definitly think that Bisping doesn't have the power to KO Leben, LEben has really good chances a KOing Bisping plus am sure that leben is a better grappler too. I hope Bisping worked on his footwork cause he needs to be sure to stick and move...

Chris Leben has always been a favourite of mine so I love to hear from him on such a wide array of topics. The funny thing about that whole clip was his saying he went through some major evolution after the Silva fight and during the MacDonald and Starnes fights. Leben has one style and as hard as he tries he will never get far from that style.

Also found it funny when he's like Swick is crazy. "Mike you can't be in the room hearing me say shit about you when your in the octagon fighting."

I do however believe Chris is better than Bisping in about 85% of the fight game and Leben will probably score a first round KO.

Ditto. There was a period of about a year and a half in which I didn't get to watch much MMA, including TUF, due to not having cable. So, I missed the season with Bisping. His fight against Hamill was the first time I'd really seen him or heard of him and his reaction (and the result) left a bad taste in my mouth. First impressions are everything with me.

BUT...I will say that I don't dislike him now nearly as much as I did before. Maybe one of these days I'll actually root for the guy. But not against Leben, who's been a favorite of mine for quite some time now. Whether or not Leben can beat him...I'm not sure. But I sure as hell hope so.

IMO Leben has always been the better of the two as far as striking goes.
