Where I am (DC suburbs) I think the gas station I usually stop at on my way home from work was down to around $2.20 when I went by this morning.

I'm in Columbus, Ohio, and gas here is as low as $1.79. The average is probably about $1.90, though.

If you buy that E-85 crap, you can get it for around $1.20.

Diesel is still over $3, which is drastically hurting our economy.

LA,CA holding down about three dollars a gallon, most places are a bit below that by ten to twenty cents.. but nothing in the less than two dollar area... man I'm jealous.

Depending on where you are in Canada gas is .85 to 1.00 a litre.

Kind of bullshit if you ask me, because the rise and fall of gas prices typically coincide with the price of oil. eg. when oil is 130$ a barrel gas was about 1.30 a litre.

Now gas is 60 cents a litre, it seems people are paying more than they should.

I guess the petro companies have conditioned people to think that 90 cents a litre for gas is a good deal.

It takes time for the ripple effect to get to you depending on where you are. Around here gas just didn't drop $1.50 in a few days, it's been gradual-averaging probably 3-5 cents at a time every few days. Chances are it'll have gone down another couple cents when I pass the gas station on my way home today, which would be in a span of roughly 11 hours But it's still more expensive closer to DC, the gas station near the subway stop I park at is still up around $2.65, probably price gouging to take advantage of being near public transportation.

It's been fairly stable here for some time now (by stable I mean +\- 5 cents a litre), yet the price of crude keeps dropping.

I've heard of the "refinery lag times" being on the order of weeks, but I think it's all bullshit to placate the masses.

Price gouging, perhaps? Down here there have been quite a few complaints about it when prices were shooting up last year and I know at least one station in my neighborhood either got fined or temporarily shut down as a result. Might still be happening to a lesser extent here, if I were to spend 15-20 minutes driving around my neighborhood I'd see a roughly 20-cent range of different prices, thanks largely in part to having both a warehouse club and grocery store that offer member discounts plus a couple of Wawas nearby, they're always cheaper.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that, but I do believe that we as consumres are being conditioned to accept higher prices. I know some don't agree with me that the petro companies play a large role in the price that we pay at the pumps (I know a large proportion of the cost is tax). However, I will argue that they play a significant part in determining how much more we are paying at the pumps.

We are still at $103.9 cents per litre. Which works out to $3.93 a gallon.
