what if a fighter misses weight and looks dehydrated and u picked him to win. then ur locked in with him.

What?

The weigh ins are usually 24 hours before the event? It's not locked in before the weigh ins?!?

The hot bout is locked, not the fighter

The hot bout isn't unfair because it is the same for everyone.

One of the things that has been mentioned is locking it early. I don't like this idea very much because it is a system that could be manipulated. A large camp could strategically throw all there votes in one direction to influence the hot bout, then switch their votes after it locks. This kind of thing already happens with the wagers because of them locking early.

The hot bout adds variety to the scores, and rewards those who get the statistically most difficult pick on the card correct. Sometimes, it can be two very marginal fighters. But if anything, that just adds to the fun of the game. To make a smart pick, it requires people to search out info about those fighters they don't know.

Hot bout is a muthafucka. When you hit it for the big 22, it is the most awesome thing ever. When it changes at the last minute and you end up getting zero and you would have got the 22 on the old fight it sucks. But it makes the game more interesting, it is fair because everyone faces the same thing, it makes more differentation in the scores, and has worked just fine for close to 5 years now.

Where do the wagers flip flop that much? I do wager graphs in advance and havent seen it move that much

Also which large camp is big enough to do this. Its rare 2 fights are close enough by less than 50 picks.

Check the picks section for the site right before a fight, and contrast it with the wagers.

I've seen +160 Dogs who were 2-1 favorites.
