"Chael Sonnen, an ultimate fighting champion and one-time candidate for a seat in Congress, has pleaded to a federal money laundering charge.
A licensed Realtor from West Linn, Sonnen admitted before a judge Monday that he conducted a financial transaction designed to hide or disguise the ownership and control of proceeds of mortgage fraud, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release"

i like him as a fighter and i thought his smack talk was pretty funny. i had high hopes of him taking silvas title but now it looks like it aint gonna happen. if you break the law you need to be punished so i dont feel sorry for him at all.

I knew when he quit the race like he did that he had some skeletons, but didn't realize that he straight up broke the law. From what I know, it isn't that bad. It is a federal charge, so the maximums are ridiculous. But he plead guilty to a single count, and the amount of the fraud is less than 100k. The DoJ is asking for 2 years probation. That is a slap on the wrist.
But you never know, the judge might be a Wanderlei fan and give him 20 years.

Hahaha I don't wanna fighter bash so sorry if it comes out wrong, but I love what's happening to this guy. All his BS before the fight and disrespect and now he gets suspended and might go to jail! Awesome!

Chael better hope the judge doesn't go Michael Vick on his a** and make an example of him. I know Chael isn't on Vick's level of celebrity, but money laundering is no joke. I wouldn't be surprised if he does some time.
