Chael Sonnen almoset went Jim Everett on Michael Landsberg earlier this afternoon.

The self-proclaimed "Peoples Champion" was on Wednesday's edition of "Off The Record" in Canada, which turned into an absolutely must-see, bizarre interview in which the former number one middleweight contender admitted he was "flabbergasted."

Enjoy Playground. This is interesting, a little uncomfortable, hilarious and completely ignorant all in one.

Very interesting. Don't quite know how to take it. Seems like Chael wasn't in the mood to do the interview, and Michael didn't help things with a few of his questions. I thought it was entertaining though

This made my fucking week LOL
Michael Landsberg you've done goof'd up.

The questions were ridiculously repetitive and ignorant. They were rhetorical questions that kinda subtly bash Chael. Landsberg doesn't know what he's talking about, I'm sure Chael was sick of answer those questions again. :P

Hilarious though hahaha

Both parties were dicks during this interview. When you have two egocentric personalities clashing, you can expect something like this to happen.

In all the interviews I have seen in my lifetime, it is my understanding the interviewer lets the interviewee dictate where the interview should and can go. In many instances where the interviews are heading where the interviewees do not want them to go, it is the job of the interviewers to change course and salvage the interviews. That is my understanding and in that sense, the heavier burden of blame should be placed on Michael Landsberg who, in no small part, tried to appeal to his interviewee. In-fact, it was quite the opposite and very intentional.

On a side note, Landsberg was very lucky this was a satellite interview.

Landsberg was baiting Chael from the start.

I actually didn't have a problem with the question. It was all the stuff that followed that was part retarded and part entertaining. Chael just didn't like him saying he backed down.

I couldn't stop laughing when Landsberg asked about the art in mixed martial arts being gone then switched Chael's answer to a knock on the "Nojera" brothers!

Wow Chael is a dick. Why did he get so mad...and why the hell is he calling himself the champ and talking about defenses?

Sonnen just started shit for nothing constantly the entire time. Landsberg didn't do anything wrong. Obviously you are going to get asked about Anderson Silva...nut up and deal with your loss

Chael was just acting initially, up until the part where Landsberg said "all right let's start it over" after that it completely spiralled out of control. Landsberg obviously couldn't tell that Chael was "in character" at the start of the interview.

Most of those questions were pretty heavily loaded. That follow-up question about the "art" in MMA where he tried to attribute a general statement about the sport to specific fighters was pretty bad in particular, and the "he should do some situps" comment was just laughable.

The interviewer should be trying to salvage the interview if it's clear that he's hitting a nerve with the interviewee, especially if the guy isn't even being paid for the interview. Landsberg will get some attention for the interview, but Chael will be taking the majority of that attention, and what little of it Landsberg does get I think won't really help him very much because he clearly knows nothing about the sport and other fighters probably won't want to take an interview from some antagonistic no-name who can't even pronounce the name of one of the godfathers of the sport.

For those of you unfamiliar with Michael Landsberg, this is pretty much what he does.

He tries to get his guests to say outrageous things or he says them himself in the hopes that it will bring exposure to him and his show.

He's been doing it for about 15 years now. As much as I can't stand him as a host, he's gotten some good interviews over the years

I'm no expert, but I have a little bit of knowledge regarding interviewing...and Landsberg pretty much broke every one of them in this piece.

I've never been a fan of Landsberg. His style is poking and trying to get under the interviewee's skin, and he gets ratings with it, but he messed up bigtime in this one.

Let's face it, HE LOST CHAEL SONNEN! Chael's the best interview in MMA right now, and the first part of the first interview was gold, but Landsberg ruined that. All he would have had to do was ask Chael a legit, relavant question and let Chael spill out golden quotes and he messed up. The second half of the interview was just doomed from the start.

That being said, funny as hell!!

"Nojerra Brudders" was classic...He was stuttering like crazy. Totally flustered.

Chael didn't do the guy favors in this interview, but the number one job of the interviewer is to own the interviewer. You have to be in charge of where it goes. And this was a huge fail on Landsberg's behalf
