Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants was voted the NL Most Valuable Player on Thursday after returning from a devastating leg injury and becoming the first catcher in 70 years to win the league's batting title.

Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera, who won baseball's first Triple Crown since 1967 won the AL MVP Award.

Tigers just signed Tori Hunter, I seen that. Gotta catch up on any of the other moves that where made.

Also as a Tigers fan you know I was stoked that Cabrera won. Not really too surprised that he won.
A couple of weeks before the end of the season a lot of the sports talk radio stations, especially "The Ticket" where talking about how Trout could win the MVP.
Once Cabrera won the Triple Crown and the Tigers went to the World Series it pretty much sealed the deal.
Gotta keep in mind too that Cabrera made the switch back to 3rd base once Prince Fielder came over. That's pretty impressive.

Verlander and Cabrera back to back Detroit Tiger MVP's

- The voting was done before the playoffs started
- moving to a position he hasn't played in years and doing a decent job defensively cannot be a knock against him
- Verlander winning last year was an absolute joke

Thank god the baseball writers got this right though

if either guy won it it would have been a win win. Trout had a one of a kind season as did Miguel.

Not much other moves yet.

I guess we can almost crown Tigers central champs again. As a Royals fan, I'd be happy with 3rd place again.

I agree Bubbles that Verlander shouldn't have won MVP last year.
His season was great, but I'm all about a position player winning the MVP award. They have the Cy Young Award for thee best pitcher already.

I'm more of the point where someone who only played in 33 games or w/e cannot win MVP. Valverde imo was more deserving last season than Valverde as he pitched in like 70 games or so (Ellsbury was my vote)
