So why is Boetsch favored so much in this matchup? Ring is undefeated and I have not seen either of these guys in action for a long time.

Boetsch is a powerhouse wrestler and he's pretty good but this is at 185 so I imagine he has to be an anorexic gasser at that weight.

I would like to know why you chose which way.

Boetsch already fought at 185, against Kendall Grove at UFC 130. I suggest looking that fight up before making your final decision.

Zuffa has been doing a good job of keeping me from being able to do so. I cant see the performance so I was hoping to know why people made their picks.

because Boetsch was able to throw around LHWs like they were children, and he was carrying a lot of fat, his weight cut is not a water-weight cut, he just lost fat, and is equally powerful as he was at 205.

Only chance Ring has to win is a submission IMO, or possibly a finish in the 3rd if Boetsch gets tired.

edit-
Also, Ring might be 12-0, but it's against pretty low level competition, whereas Boetsch has fought much tougher competition. Granted he lost to most of the higher level fighters that he faced, but I think that a loss to Phil Davis will teach you more than a win over Riki Fukuda.

Thanks. I never realised he was actually a small 205er.

Yeah, its kinda like Jeff Monson as a smaller HW that could cut to LHW

Now watch Ring just light him up. I have Tim here as well though.

Tim isn't favored that much wager wise.

If Boetsch comes out with the same intensity he had against Grove, he will run right through Ring. Boetsch should be able to take him down at will and pound him out.

I think Ring pissed him off at the Stare-down.

I actually picked ring because I do expect Botech to gas and get tapped. Ring is a good wrestler too, not lanky like Grove who's easy to overpower.

Ring did better than I expected him to, but ultimately it went down pretty much how I expected it would, Boetsch just out-muscled him. Impressive first round for Ring for sure though, solid grappling display.

Ring had a solid first round, for sure. The Barbarian is a very apt nickname for Boetsch though, he just hulked out on Ring in those last two rounds. He was like technical striking? Nah, I'll just grab this dude and punch him in the face cause I can.

Plus, what about that hip toss? I was going to create a new thread just to discuss that. I've seen some super sick throws before, but sweet jesus, that was perfection. Brute force and excellent technique. Boetsch at middleweight is interesting. He seems to have improved his cardio too; he did pretty well for being at Denver.
