What is the biggest fluke in mma history in your opinion?

Mine would be Bisping's infamous desision victory over matt hamill.

Yoshida vs Royce Gracie-> it looked like Yoshida had a Gi choke on royce, but the replay showed otherwise, Royce didnt tap, but the ref stopped the fight thinking Royce had gone to sleep.

Lindland vs. Vitale 1-> Lindland KOs himself

Kerr vs. Yamamoto

Coleman vs Shogun

Hope people dont confuse this with the biggest upsets.

Houston Alexander over Keith Jardine

I disagree...it may have been a big upset, but Houston has the perfect style to put away Jardine, as we saw again when he fought Wandy.

Fluke should only be an injury or weird stoppage, not someone getting KO'd by a huge under dog.

using this reasoning, i must say Nate Diaz winning the tuf finale

That was a weird one, and the worst part was him celebrating like he acctually won.

Kimbo Slice vs. James Thompson, some would say stopping because of the ear thing, but the main one was many people think Kimbo tapped.

Maybe Vera vs Werdum, don't like either fighter but with that much time left Dan "the Dumbass" Mirgliotta or whatever shouldn't have stopped it. Not the biggest fluke but definitely fluke worthy.

Other than that, prolly yoshida v Gracie

fluke 1
Noun
an accidental stroke of luck [origin unknown]
fluky adj

thats the definition. it includes freak injuries but not limited too. lol. there is a difference between an upset and a fluke. a fluke is when the underdog wins but shows signs of just getting lucky.

Upsets are not flukes!!!

GSP V Serra was an UPSET
SOK V Lil Nog was an UPSET
Cro Cop V Gonzaga/Randleman was an UPSET

If a fighter throws a Kick / Punch (aiming for the head)....connects....and knocks his opponent out or rocks hm.....how is that a fluke?

Also..bad decisions aren’t flukes either surely? And if they where, Bisping V Hammil isnt the worst decision I’ve ever witnessed in mma....look at Rampage v Ninja for example!!!

A fluke in my opinion is something that statistically improbable........look at these fights....

Lindland vs. Vitale

Coleman vs Shogun

Barnett v Cro Cop 1

Henderson v Nakamura

All these fights ended due to a freak incident, and where not called a "no contest"....so they are considered flukes.

What are the odds of these things happening in a fight?

TK gettin the Win over Fedor from the Illegal Blow

If a fight ends by KO or SUB i cant call it a fluke. but sometime a TKO can be a fluke. example Leben/Sakara

most flukes though would be BS decisions. Example: Bisping/hamill, nogueira/Rodriguez,

TK over Fedor for sure.
Vitor over Couture with the eye cut.I think that is a fluke as well.
Kevin burns over Anthony Johnson was a fluke imo.
Coleman over Shogun could be considered a fluke.

I was just about to mention the double KO that was posted not too long ago.

Fedor x Fujita get near to be the biggest fluke of all time, fortunaly, Fedor came back and won the fight..

I remember when i watch this fight I just cannot stop to scream "WTF!!! WTFF!!" (In portuguese oblivious )
