Gable, Gable, Gable
Yeah I didn't see the option for Gable the first time and went straight to Angle. Its not possible to change my vote though.
Just watched a vid of Buvaisair Saitiev, the dude is like a python the way he wraps around his opponent!

Overall, Dan Gabel. Collegiate, Cael Sanderson. High school I'd have to go with Jason welch.

GSP shouldn't be on this list. It is either Gable or Sanderson.
I have the high honor of saying Dan Gable put a half nelson on me

All Time
High School - Kolat
College -Cael Sanderson, though he recently tweeted, in response to someone wanting to rename the "Hodge" after him, "Hodge would crush me like he crushes apples, with one hand"
International (Americans) - John Smith
Current
High School - Marstellar
College - Howe ( if healthy), Dake, Taylor, Ruth, Steiber, and Oliver. These six are special.
International (American) - Burroughs

No John Smith means list is invalid. Take out the canadians and Kurt Angle (who was good, no doubt) and put in Smith, Sanderson and Fadzaev, and you at least have a serious list.
I am biased towards Gable, but could see the case for either Smith or to a lesser extent Sanderson. Fadzaev and Saitiev might be better than any of them, but I am not as familiar with their careers.

Aleksandr Karelin is the greatest wrestler of all time in my opinion.
James Toney, maybe Art Jimmerson idk, it's hard to say they were from different eras.

without John Smith it just isn't a real list. He was a friend, coach, and hands down the best wrestler I ever had the pleasure of wrestling with.

I admit, I know very very little when it comes to this topic. So my question is, why is Rulon Gardner not relevent in this conversation?

Because he is neither Aleksandr Karelin nor Dan Gable.
