OK fist off the picture above me is a little disturbing but any way. You would have to give me a tape of Anderson saying this wearing a t shirt that says I'm Anderson Silva while his mom say come on in for dinner Anderson. I can't believe he would say that when there is so much out there for him to prove. 205 needs to be his new home also there is GSP and BJ for him to fight. Leave the B level fighters at 185 alone and fight others. I just hope he doesn't do like so others and leave then come back two years or three later to try and fight again and not be as good.

First off, Anderson's mom died a while ago, if you remember the Irvin fight he looked up saying it was for his mom. I dunno about BJ vs Anderson being much of a superfight. The only fight I want to see Anderson have before he retires is against Fedor for the pfp spot, I firmly believe Fedor would be the one man on this planet to run through Silva.

It would be a shame if he retires but i think its a smart move for him. After beating up everyone in the MW division who else is left to challenge him at the moment, after Cote Hendo shoudl get a second crack at him but if he does beat them both maybee by that time Phil Harris should be good enought to fight him. 3 fights later you are in the middle of 2009 so it makes sense by then to retire if there is no new challenger.

Sounds like Anderson might be burning out.

Rocky Marciano retired when he did because, among other things, he started to hate the training. Apparently, even the smell of the gym repulsed him.

But if Anderson did retire how long would it last? The things we pursue with a passion is often what we use to define who we are. Plus great fighters like Anderson will miss the sport and the attention it gave him at some point - that'll be the true test to see if he can stay retired, if he retires in the first place.

Fedor's a HW, Silva's a MW. I would expect Fedor to beat him

Knowing Anderson Silva, that's about 13 more fights.

There is no way he will retire, unfortunately MMA is going mainsteam like boxing, and there is a lot of different ways to get paid. The false threat seems to have worked well in the past. He (or the people around him) are lining him up for some big paydays. It is the reality behind mainstream sports. When it was just guys that wanted to bang there was no drama with it. With expansion comes good and bad things. It is what it is.

They walk around at about 15 pounds difference. Andersond and GSP would be a way bigger stretch. But you are right, Fedor would play with him.

What are you talking about man, Silva would not cut weight for this fight. Either you know something that I don't or you have no clue what you are talking about
