I don't think he can either

Anderson's probably my favorite fighter right now, but I do believe Bones has the tools to defeat him.

Im probably one of the only people who doesnt want to see this fight. Silvas on the edge of retirement and theres plenty of fights at middle weight for him. Jones would have Silva on his back the entire time imo.

Silva should quit calling out GSP then. Silva vs Jones is basically the same as GSP vs Silva. The advantage goes to the bigger fighter.

Not always true, Royce Gracie dominated and was a lot smaller than most guys he fought, Granted back then most of the guys fighting aside from a few were basically turds, but still Athleticism and Technique > Size and Strength... Jones isn't really a fair comparison because he's just a freak of a human. Anderson has beat other 205ers like Forrest who are naturally bigger than he is. Frank Edgar was a champ at 155 a class he was smaller than most he fought.

I agree that skill beats size and strength, however, if both fighters are skilled fighters and athletes, and relatively at the same level, then the scale tips towards size and strength. We are talking about the top 3 PFP fighters in GSP, Silva and Jones, therefore athleticism and technique are basically off the table as each fighter is at the top of the game (and freaks of nature) - the big difference is size. Silva beat bigger fighters who did not have the same skill set as Jones and GSP. Edgar is a fair comparison, with the exception that he was considered a top PFP at the time and his opponents were top tens but not at the same level with Silva/Jones/GSP.

on the edge of retirement?? the dude just re-signed a 10-fight deal with the UFC. he's going to be around for probably another 3 or 4 years at least, if he keeps to the same schedule of fighting like twice a year. i can't believe so many people are jumping on the jones bandwagon here like he's already the greatest fighter ever. i think jon holds 2 advantages in the fight... his reach and his wrestling. anderson absolutely has the striking advantage and the experience advantage, not to mention he's submitted plenty of guys from his back. i'm not saying i LIKE anderson silva, but until he's been beaten, i can't bet against him just yet. jon jones would definitely give him the toughest fight i think because of his size and creativity, but anderson is no slouch in the striking department or in creativity either.

Maybe i missed your point...if you're talking in terms of size difference between GSP,Bones and Anderson, Then i guess i can agree with your point, Atleast with Anderson vs Jones... Jones's size and skill is just fucking ridiculous. I'm not a GSP fan by any means, but i think he would decision Anderson. I just took your statement as most guys with a size advantage win....not just comparing these 3.

GSP clearly doesn't want to go up to fight Silva. Silva doesn't want to go up to fight Jones.

Personally I think they should ink Silva v Fedor.
