Who beat him in boxing, how, and does anyone have a video ? He looked ok in the one fight i seen, he got caught with a nice left hook i think, pretty good, and i have no idea who the other guy was and for those who haven't seen it, i think it's in the Video section. Here's a link to MMA Live, they talk about his record there- http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/espn-mma-live-kimbo-slice-14631

silva wouldnt beat jones. Silva is IMO the best mma fighter out there as well as the best striker in mma. But Jones is very experienced boxer and anderson would only be able to punch. His knees from the clinch are his best offense. but they wouldnt be allowed. I think Jones would KO anderson.

I agree that Anderson would lose.

As an MMA fighter miyself I have learned to develop a sort of sync with striking. Friends of mine want to box me all the time, and I loe more often than not, but when we fight mma style, I win hands down every time.

The thing is....... when someone who trains in mma trys to transition to boxing, you take away 5 different elments of his fight game(kicks, knees, elbows, takedowns, and submissions).

Think about it, when most fighters are getting beat standup, they take the fight to the ground, if they can. In boxing you cant.

That is my reasoning, similar to being a fish out of water

awesome post and exactly what i was thinking. plus imagine u train MMA for hours a day, days a week, weeks to months... years! now imagine only training standup that whole time with hands only! lol Roy Jones in his prime would win 2nd rd KO but now days 6 rd KO. AGE!

I'm sure Anderson Silva got enough of a taste for boxing in his first career to know that he won't beat Roy Jones. In his case I'm sure it's more about challenging himself and seeing how well he can do against long odds rather than compete in a sport where he's always the favorite.

Its stupid to give it to Silva. MMA and Boxing have different stances when standing even. How do you think Silva will do out of his game with one of the best verterens in that sport? Bad I would say. That isn;t saying Jones is a better fighting either. Put Jones in the cage and he will get destroyed too.
