Alvarez vs. Diaz Possible For EliteXC Lightweight Title

Although no official announcement has been made by EliteXC, Eddie Alvarez and Nick Diaz have verbally agreed to a fight on the November 8 EXC event that would be for the vacant EXC Lightweight Championship. Prior champion KJ Noons was stripped of the belt in a dispute with EXC.

it says article not found for me when i click on the link. regardless this would be a great fight. Nick wouldn't want this on the feet but he has lackluster takedowns so i'd have to give this to Alvarez.

yeah although i'd be picking against one of my favorites, i think that Alvarez can keep up with Diaz's pace, if not outmatch it and would be the favorite because of his physical attributes

I think it depends on what Nick Diaz shows up.....
He seems to either be pissed off or just not into it
If he shows up pissed he will beat the hell out of Alvarez

if sean sherk couldn't get diaz to the ground then alvarez won't. diaz has also handled better strikers. i think nick takes a pounding and comes away with a sub, this could be fight of the year.

Wow great fight Im going with Alvarez but I thought for sure I would see the Diaz lovers talking smack but very few backing their boy.

I completely agree I like your train of thought on this fight. But I think Diaz will lose rd 1 and then wake up and win the fight the way the Diaz bros always do. with that peppering style of punches and off the wall jui jitsu game. Although I wont be surprised if Alvarez wins this one because he is one of the toughest dudes in that division period.
