UFC 80: Alessio Sakara vs. James Lee

Light heavyweights Alessio Sakara (11-6) and James Lee (12-2) will throwdown at UFC 80: “Rapid Fire” at The Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England, on January 19, 2008.

MMAmania (www.mmamania.com) first learned about the match up earlier this morning from members of the Sakara management team. In addition, representatives indicated that this will be the last fight for Sakara at 205 pounds in the near future — he plans to dip down to middleweight (185 pounds) regardless of the result in the United Kingdom.

I could see Sakara doing some damage in the MW division.....that would be a good move for him IMO.

I think this could be a recurring theme, mid-level LHW'S movin down to MW to make a run in a less crowded division

but should Sakara really be allowed back in the UFC if he loses this fight? He would be 2-4 in the UFC which doesnt really deserve an invitation back weight class drop or not!
But i spose they need new fighters in the MW division so bad they would easily take him, hope Mcfedries comes back soon as well

This will be a good fight
James was unlucky in his PRIDE debut imo, but its classic striker vs grappler matchup and you have to say James has a good chance of subbing Sakara, its one of those fights destined to NOT go to the judges
