UFC 145 has added a lightweight bout between two dynamic strikers.
UFC officials today announced that Anthony Njokuani (14-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and John Makdessi (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet at the March event, which takes place in Montreal.
UFC 145, which is the first Canadian show of the year, takes place March 24 at Montreal's Bell Centre.
The night's main card airs on pay-per-view, and the preliminary card airs on FX. Njokuani vs. Makdessi likely will be part of the prelims.
Njokuani looks to rebound from a close UFC 141 split-decision loss to late replacement and wrestler Danny Castillo. Njokuani, a former WEC fighter who hasn't put together back-to-back wins since late 2009, is 2-4 since then, though he often puts on crowd-pleasing fights. Against Makdessi, he should be able to keep it standing...
