$350,000 for Cung

He might be one and done if that's the contract he's got. 350 000 just to show? Damn.

$350,000 is $150,000 more then Anderson made in his title defense against Okami. That's not including any ppv cut for Silva. I'm surprised that Le made that much

$350,000 for Cung

That was likely his contract from Strikeforce. I don't recall Zuffa signing him to a deal so chances are they had no say in his salary.

Still though! Kung isn't exactly a big draw and that is a healthy slice of change. I wonder how many more fights he has on his contract?!

Just as suprised as you guys.

Cung making 350

and Hendo who left b/c of money only made 250k, no win bonus.

I know I wouldn't pay that much for a 39 year old in Cung, so hopefully that was his last fight.

holy crap...cung le is soooooo not worth that price tag

props to his agent

Dana was expecting Le to draw in most of the Cali crowd, so that could be why.

This offends me... but whatever. Cung Le's a good fighter and all but doesn't deserve $350,000... Thats not right. He makes movies already..
You get guys like Urijah Faber and Brian Bowles getting under 100K.

Brian Bowles... 19K. Thats just sad for a top 5 guy and a former champion.
Whatever I realize this is business and all but this is ridiculous.

Well, maybe Cung can get a new nose with that $$$$.

all the undercard and spike prelims fighters pay w/ their win bonuses did not make as much a Cung.

I just thought for sure Hendo would make more money than Cung.

Even in SF that's way too much for Cung.

Dana said in an interview after the fight that he could give a lot more bonuses the to fighters on the 139 card so i'm happy about that.

That might just be part of the reason that SF has been purchased. Massive contracts for fighters who just aren't worth that much

I hope the UFC cuts him and Cung fights once or twice outside the UFC.

That way they can resign him at a more reasonable price.

I like to see the guy fight but this is nuts.

plus another 70k for Le since dana gave out bonuses for 2 FOTN. 420grr before any sponsers makes for an alright night to get your beak busted. Could this be the highest amount paid to a fighter getting ko'd in the ufc? I would imagine Le's contract was like Hendo's and he wouldn't have gotten a win bonus had he won. Starting to see the top fighters doing this with thier contracts, instead of having a 100 percent win bonus they will negotiate for something like half that in gaurenteed money up front. So win or lose they get a set amount and is probably a good idea since almost all of the top ranking fighters are in the same organization. I believe Nick Diaz contract was like this as well with no win bonus.

I agree...Now its so so obvious why Strike force was bleeding to death....Dam Scott Coker ....dana and co must be saying never let Coker at a negotiating table...Thats just insane for Cung lee...I dont care how many movies hes in...

Im still in total shock...I guess the UFC is thinking more along the lines of 100,000 maybe?

Yeah, Le's contract is from the strikeforce days. You've gotta remember Strikeforce is a San Jose based promotion. And prior to promoting MMA Coker was promoting Le as his top kickboxing draw. With Strikeforce being a regional promotion back in the day Le was very much responsible for putting asses in the seats.

The inmates used to run the asylum in Strikeforce. I'm not terribly surprised by the figure. It's a shame when you put up up next to the other fighters on the card from that night. But good for Cung; get it while you can I guess. Chances are he won't see very many more paydays like that in the sport.

Great point about Faber and Bowles. How in the world can a guy like Urijah Faber be making $64k in a win? That's just a travesty.

Maybe Faber got a cut of the PPV money.

I doubt Bowles did, but Faber is one of the guys they've put money into promoting. Its also why I think he gets a title shot every other fight.

With Le only fighting once a year, I'm sure that is why he has such a high pay. This is obviously a SF contract being honored. I'm sure if he fights again it will be under a new deal.

I think Faber definitely gets a PPV cut, he isn't making much more than he was in the WEC. I wanna say he was somewhere in the 50-55k range in the WEC. Either way Faber is banking money from endorsements.
