Almost every round was close, but I thought Shogun had pulled it out. Given the current title picture I think Shogun earned an immediate rematch.

horrible night for me

...Except for my Hawkeyes coming through again!

i'm really starting to question the csac.
i can't help but think if this fight was in vegas or ANYWHERE else. we would have a new champ.

i think Cecil might have cloned himself and was all 3 judges. that was the absolute worst display of mma judging i have ever seen in my entire life. pitiful absolutely pitiful. i am absolutely disgusted.

Shogun was clearly the better fighter tonight. Its a shame that he didnt get the decision that he earned.

Shogun, IMO, is the LHW champ of the world right now. He deserved that decision so much more than Forrest did when he beat Jackson. Machida is a lucky man. Not we know Shogun can go 5 rounds, I really feel for his next opponent.

I watched that fight (Machida V Shogun) With a completely NON BIAS opinion, And Shogun Kicked the crap out of Machida, Even Machida's best exchange didnt really even hit Shogun, You know the exchange where SHOGUN hit him with a hard right....

That is shocking, If Forrest beat Rampage after landing less leg kicks and getting knocked down and eating wayyy more punches. Shogun should of won by far.

I feel so bad for Shogun, Becuase even now if they have a rematch, Machida knows his gameplan and it wont be half as effective.

Screw the judges....

I HOPE SOMEONE TAKES DER JOB!!!!!!

I don't know guys... I'd say the fight was close enough not to be considered a robbery. Like I said I thought Shogun had edged it out but it was close.

Regardless it was a good, close fight that should be followed by an immediate rematch ASAP.

How can you possibly give Lyoto 3 rounds of that fight? I'm sorry but thats ridiculous, Lyoto never found his rhytm and it showed. I mean really what did Lyoto even do besides get kicked 70% of the time? did you see his face after the fight, hes cut up and breathing heavy while Shogun is unscaved and fresh.

Ill take everyones word so far. Regardless as you said it seemed like a good close fight. Ill have to watch it a few times when the replays come out tomorrow.

The minute i saw the judges i told the people i watched the fight with that nothing good comes from Cecil judging. After the first round Machida landed one maybe two power shots, being the knees to the body as Shogun went for the takedown. Ridiculous.

not paying money for the UFC until something happens with the officiating.

I understand that it's the athletic commission who controls the judges and refs, but I just can't pay to watch this happen every single event. No more for me, I'll download them or something. Not dishing out money to watch this happen anymore.

Finished 7-4 with 49 points and hit my parlay of Rumble, Joe Daddy, and Struve. Not that bad. Gotta say, I'm kinda shocked by this decision as well. I was rootin for Lyoto, but that just robbery. Thought the stoppage in the cain-rothwell fight was a little early too, but big ben was goin out anyways imo.

Missed my big parlay thanks to Gormley!! Haha...

And I had Shogun winning 49-46 but thought most rounds were pretty close...- was shocked by the decision...but don't think it was the worst I have saw.

A round-by-round accounting would be useful too, since the scoring system views the fight that way. If Fighter A decisively wins two rounds and Fighter B barely sneaks away with three rounds, the total stats could clearly favor Fighter A, but Fighter B would win. I'm not sure that's what happened here, but it might be.

just finished watching the shogun vs machida fight and although it wasnt decisive i felt shogun won on points. He was the aggresor the entire fight and he definitly landed more strikes(mostly low kicks) and he did more damage. at the end of the fight machidas movement was limited due to the numerous leg and body kicks he had absorbed. machida did little damage and his attacks were few and far between. none of the rounds were dominant but i dont see how machida gets more than one. i guess you can go back to the boxing motto thats says you have to take a champs belt and maybe shogun didnt due enough but in my mind he did more than machida.
