I'm curious who here has been to jail? Maybe only a day or a few days or a year?

I went to jail in 04 for reckless driving. BTW street racing is bad! I got clocked at 82 in a 35mph zone and the cops were NOT happy. I spent 2 1/2 days waiting for my wife(gf at the time) to get paid and bail me

I was also arrested for drunk in public but never charged in dec 08. That cop turned out to be awesome. Believe it or not but he was the arresting officer for my reckless driving and thought the coincidence that one of the passengers in the reckless driving charge 5 years later was out with me at the perfect timing(it was 3am at a city park) drunk.

Any other stories?

i almost got arrested for a tire slashing, but i was able to push my arrest date back (friend gave me up so they had to get a warrant to pick me up) and settled with the guy before the arrest date came. that was the closest call i came withthe law and i don't plan on getting any closer.

got a Hit & Run in 01 driving through a fence and totalling my car into a dumpster, and a DUI in 02 while on probation, high centering my car on a fire hydrant. Don't drink and drive kids :)

Ended up doing 4 days and had a blast; full cable, monopoly, poker, books, and a break from my cell phone. Uncomfortable beds though.

well my friends had this history with this guy because they threw clementines at him so whenever he would see them he would chase them in his car. so i said, well he can't chase you if he has 2 slashed tires so i did it.

I've been arrested and not charged with drunken and disorderly conduct, October 2008. I had been drinking at some bowling ally bar in Torrence. It was my buddy's girlfriend's room mate's 21st birthday so thats where we went. (I thought it was a bit strange but go figure) I'm going to try not mince words and get to the point, the last thing i remember was singing Bohemian Rhapsody with a bunch of people in the Karaoke part of the bar in the bowling ally... still with me? Okay from here it has been revealed that i gave directions back to this chick's apartment where i had visited for the first time that night, got into an argument with my buddy over whether i had the ability to walk and when i punch my black out time card back in for work... i am simply walking down some street... no idea where I am. Don't have my phone because it is in that chick's couch... another story for another time. But suffice it so say that i found myself in a parking lot asking a very shady dude to call a cab on his cell phone. Thats when the po po roll up on a car, finish pulling them over and writing the ticket and well i don't know what that shady guy's excuse was, but i was still pretty plastered so he tells me to go ask the cops for help.... yeah... and I actually did it. Anyway i go up to the cops and ask them if they can help me find a cab, and they decide its a good idea to pat me down. Fair enough right? Safety first. Then next thing I know I'm in the back of a squad car making small talk. They throw me in the drunk tank till about 10 am, and i can't be terribly sure but i think i had ten bucks going in and nothing coming out... though i was blacked out for a while. Moral of the story, eat a hearty meal before drink, drink less, don't try and make asinine points, and don't ask the cops for help... it was a night of learning experiences for me.
I forgot something, the distance i actually walked was from Torrence, CA to Lomita county CA so google maps that for a laugh.

Went to jail when I was assaulted by a x-roomate. She had been drinking and asked me for a ride and in the middle of the freeway started assaulteing me and gouging out my face. Stopped at a gas station and the clerk saw my face and that she was upset and thought we had been fighting (when really there was no fight just her attacking me.) So he wrote down my plates cops showed up at the house and right away put me in cuffs. Even though there was no reason for them to arrest me they did and I went to jail for the night. Not cool! half a year later and $5,000 in lawer/court fees they figure hey this dude didn't do anything and dropped the 5th degree assault charges on me. I currently have two restraining orders on the crazy bitch and the court ordered her to not contact me cuz she is a friggin stalker.

Moral of the story. Run from crazy Bitches

I've always wondered...if you get taken in to the drunk tank do you get charged or is it just you stay over night and go home when you're sober.

Same here. I've been let go on 6 potential DUI's (didn't register LOWER than .150 on any of them). I've also had numerous run-ins with the law for possession and always talked my way out of them and in one instance, didn't get locked up because a buddy had a warrant so they locked him up and let me go.

As a minor, I managed to not get arrested once for minor consumption. My friends were idiots and would throw parties every weekend and just about every night throughout the week in the summer and the cops knew exactly where to look for minors consuming so they'd bust just about every party I was at. My fatass had to run a few times and also had to talk my way out of getting arrested for MC on a few more occasions.

My secret? I'm always nice and respectful (and remorseful) when speaking with a cop. It *does* work. Being loud, obnoxious and arguing with them doesn't make things any easier.

--------

EDIT: Yes, I was a dumb kid. Also...knock on wood!

In the US, if you get taken in to the drunk tank, you've been arrested and *will* be charged. They don't treat it like a free hotel stay (in most cases) here.

im not proud to say that i served a month when i was younger for battery, and had a few overnight and weekend stays for a couple of disorderly conducts and a DUI. as a teenager i got busted with a stolen car(along with my girlfriend at the time who happens to be my sons mom) and spent a few weeks in juvie in st charles, MO. we were taking the car to a guy in wentzville all the way from milwaukee until she made a turn into oncoming traffic where a cop happened to be. that one got me just a couple of weeks until the guy dropped the charges because we were so young and he said it was romantic, LOL. needless to say our parents were pissed about the whole thing the least of which was the drive down to pick us up. im happy to say i cleaned up my act and havent had police contact since 2001 outside of a speeding ticket. youth=stupidity, at least in my case.

I once delivered a package to Adams County Prison when working for UPS. Does that count?

Public intoxication (underage) 96 or 97... Only a couple of hours cause I was just a pup

5th degree felony possession 99 - Weekend stay, 20 days after I turned 18

Possession with intent to transport across National border 99-00(oops)... No jail, almost got deported though and a relatively light fine

felony distruction of property 00... Overnight

DUI 08 - Book and release, so only a couple of hours (ended up getting dropped to a careless, woohoo)

Seems like 1999-2000 was a bad stretch for me, and I was really doing well until that DDub last year... I passed my field sobriety tests and all, but didn't do so well on the PBT... When I retook the test at the jailhouse I ended up with a 0.07 BAC hence the drop to a careless... Other than that, I'm not the trouble maker I once was... really I'm not...

I've done a total of 7 1/2 years. 5 has an adult and 2 1/2 as a juvenile. All drug related/ drug inuiced crimes. My past sucks, but it is what it is. I can't change it, but I damn sure don't have to repeat it. Been drug free coming up on 20 years. I have a record that's a mile long. Been charged with everything except murder, rape and pedophile.

I hung out with a very dangerous and stupid crowd. Thank God I'm still alive today and I never killed anyone. On that I'm pretty cure. PCP (Green or Killer weed) was my perfered drug. That stuff would put you out there. would have me doing stuff that I don't remember doing. Cost me a marriage. I made it through that and am now married to, get this, a police officer, have 2 kids and live the normal life.

I got arrested a couple months ago even started a thread about the horrible week i was having.

But i was super drunk downtown on fremont street (las vegas) and the last thing i remember was leaving this casino which had been supplying free drinks the entire time me and my friends were there. The next thing i remember is security has me and they are telling me I tried to steal a ladys purse. (i have never done anything like that and i still think it was a case of mistaken identity) but security held me til the cops got there, i was twenty at the time(and drunk) but after a conversation with the cops they let me go but told me not to go back onto fremont st. well i couldnt find my friends (and was so drunk i didnt ever think about using my cell phone to call them) so i walked back to fremont st. looking for them. The same cop seen me and put me back into handcuffs and arrested me for trespassing and i spent the night in jail (Drunk at the age of 20) they didnt seem to care that i was under age so i never got a ticket for that

But i spent the night in a room that was about 10 feet by 10 feet with 8 other guys, 1 toilet and 1 bench. by the time morning came every inch of the floor had a guy laying there trying to sleep (including me sleeping under the bench)

the worst part of the entire situation was waking up after 2 hours of sleeping on cold concrete with the worst hangover and no room to move

Never been arrested, but man... I should be locked away for a long time. Me and my buddies did some STUPID ****. A lot of them got jail time, but I always got away. Guess I was just lucky. Had a couple of close enough calls that I've been scared straight for sure at this point, though.

I'm with you there, I probably shouldve been tarred and feathered for things Ive done in the past according to my ex ;) I never even went to juvy as a teenager, I wasnt a "bad kid" but definatly not a "good kid" according to the norm, and I'm proud to say I havnt experienced jail and I dont plan on it because I never get caught... mostly because I never do too many illigal things in the first place so I dont have to be in those situations of going to a distasteful place like prison.

Sad to say, I have been to jail numerous times. I also went to prison, when I was a young punk. I pulled a gun on somebody, and took their car. I didn't know the severity of what I was doing at the time. By the grace of God, I only got 5 years. I did 2 and a half, got out, and never got in trouble again. Let's just say, I got rehabilitated. That's the problem when you're young. You don't understand the consequences of your actions. I went to prison a kid, and came out a man. Now, I'm a family man. I'm happy to say, that's the best life a man can live. what's up Monk that's my DOG!
