This is an exercise to see whether using past events on future UFC's can give meaningful and predictive analysis.
The nearest event, UFC 95, borrows heavily from themes found in UFC 89, as they will have both been aired from England on a delay during a Spike telecast. Most importantly, their main events are comprised of recognizable TUF veterans or winners. UFC 89 aired on Oct. 18, 2008 to an average 2.6 million viewers with Bisping vs. Leben headlining. UFC 95 will take place Feb. 21st, 2009 with Diego Sanchez and Joe Stevenson in the main event.
Other notable events to have aired on Spike are UFC Fight Night 17 and 14. FN 14 on July 17th, 2008 with Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin headlining drew an average 3.1 million viewers. The latest live action shown on Spike, FN 17, aired Feb. 7th with Joe Lauzon and Jeremy Stephens headlining to an average 1.7 million viewers.LINK
