9 / 10
i went to this school when i was about 5 or 6, since then i have aquired 4 dans or black belts and am in MMA and ninpo, Master Mays was a good start! While TKD is probably not the way to go for street defense, it is an easy, fun, growing art. When I went there, I didn't quite understand the true philosophy of the art, the kicking and acrobatic, flashy, moves! I learn quickly as Master Mays was funny, and helped people understand that. I was almost boxing during sparring one time and he walked up and said jokingly, "I teach you all these kicks and you are over here playing pattycake, c'mon hustle up". I laughed and it encouraged me to do more kicks. TKD is not mean't for street defense, but it has it's uses in the situations. I think that in the end, he was the one who encouraged me to fight in MMA and ninpo, so I could grow even more. He was funny, serious, and knew what he was doing. I hope that his school keeps growing

- Better for young ones than MMA due to encouragement NOT to fight

Cons:

-Pressure points and other important stuff (even knife defense) was only taught to the adults

-Not the best of street defense unless in adult classes
