I completely disagree with Susan. My sister and I took karate with Freddie when i was younger, about 8-10 years old. I later dropped out because it wasn't really "my" thing, but at the time I thought he was an awesome instructer! He was really patient, and no matter how good or bad of a job you were doing, he was always there rooting you on and pushing you to be your best. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

Fred LaPan taught my oldest son a few years back and I thought him an outstanding teacher. I highly recommend his school to anyone interested in children's martial arts in the Barre area.

Brilliant martial artist. Exceptional rapport with children. Seemingly infinite patience. A genuinely fine human being. Master LaPan is a man I am proud to call my sensei and friend.

Mr. Lapan is not only a dedicated martial artist but also a very good teacher; a "people person" with a great sense of humor and a good communicator. His thoughts are lightning fast as well as his moves.I really do not know WHAT the comment about "egotisical"...( yes , there are degrees of that in everyone .I did NOT find this excessive in him-show me ONE PERSON who isn't - particularly those who point it out in others..."only interested n young women"...Are you an old woman? I also did not see an excessive amount of gender bias behavior...I totally respect him

I've been a student with Freddie and later a student of Freddie and he has instructed my 3 children. He is a top level martial artist and EXCELLANT instructor. Great with adults - Awesome with children.

I disagree completely with Susan's review. Our experience with Master Freddie was top notch. The lessons are structured with a great message at the end - teaching children how to be responsible humans. I would HIGHLY recommend this studio to any child looking to boost their self esteem and fitness.
