I'll admit, there are some things that I don't like and would change, but a lot of that comes from my very traditional background. Which is traditional Karate. By traditional I mean training for the streets, full contact, only mouth piece and groin cup, etc. There is no room for "a front kick is thrown exactly like this and always like this."
That being said, when I moved to Cincinnati Reed Academy is the only place where I felt like I was really learning something effective. I tried many karate (and similar style) schools and all had fallen wayside. They were too concerned with how THEY do things to see if anything actually worked. I also tried several BJJ schools and every one was training for the cage.
At RAMA I feel like I am getting something for my time and money, in a very good environment, all while making friends.
