Richard Clementi - No Love
Early training is a key aspect of what determines a great fighter later in life, and American mixed martial arts fighter Richard “No Love” Clementi knows that fact better than most. Born March 31st, 1976 in Slidell, Louisiana, Clementi began his martial arts training at the young age of two. Focusing on karate and jiu jitsu in the beginning, Clementi quickly branched out into submission wrestling and grappling. With only a career in professional mixed martial arts fighting in mind, the born fighter intensified his training as his finished school.
Clementi began his life as a professional fighter with the WEF promotion, losing his debut match by unanimous decision to Chris Seifert. Another decision loss followed only three months later, this time to Rick Thompson. With his young career in jeopardy early, Clementi pulled through to win his next three fights by striking hard and often; one bout ended in a TKO, the other two by submission due to strikes.
After remaining undefeated for nearly two years and winning nine fights in a row, Clementi finally caught the eye of the management of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. An invitation was extended to have “No Love” appear on Spike TV’s reality series The Ultimate Fighter 4. Paired against fighting veteran Shonie “Mr. International” Carter, Clementi lost his preliminary match. He went on to appear on the series’ finale, losing this match to Din Thomas by submission.
