Patrick Cote - The Predator

Patrick “The Predator” Cote was born on February 29th, 1980 in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada. Cote took up boxing while serving in the Canadian Army and went on to add kickboxing, wrestling, and Brazilian jiu jitsu after completing his military service.

Cote began his mixed martial arts career with the TKO organization, winning his first five matches and quickly capturing the TKO Light Heavyweight Championship. He was picked up by the Ultimate Fighting Championship to face Tito Ortiz at UFC 50, with Ortiz filling in for Cote’s original opponent, Marvin Eastman. Although Cote lost that fight by unanimous decision, he didn’t give up his hopes for strong competition in the UFC.

In 2006 Cote was chosen to participate on Spike TV’s television show The Ultimate Fighter 4, competing in the middleweight division. Cote defeated Jorge Rivera and Edwin Dewees to move onto the final round where he lost to Travis Lutter with a first round submission.

After earning his first official UFC win against Scott Smith at UFC 67, Cote was scheduled to fight Kendall Grove at UFC 74.
